Oprah Winfrey 'was victim of racism' in Switzerland

Billionaire US talk show host Oprah Winfrey said she was a victim of racism during a recent visit to Switzerland. Oprah visited Zurich last month to attend Tina Turner's wedding and while there she visited an up market handbag shop but a shop assistant refused to serve her, saying the bags on display were "too expensive" for her. The bag on display was a $35,000 bag. Too expensive for one of the richest women in the world? Well, The Oprah Winfrey Show is not shown in Switzerland so they don't know her there...but even at that no black person can afford a $35, 000 bag?

Oprah said she left the shop calmly without arguing, but that the experience was proof that racism continues to be a problem. "There's two different ways to handle it. I could've had the whole blow-up thing... but it still exists, of course it does."she said

2012 MBGN, Isabella Ayuk Speaks On Recent Scandal

There has been this gist all over town in the aftermath of Isabella Agbor O Ayuk being crowned the MBGN Queen for 2012 that she was much older than the age she claims, some had said she was not a day less than 31. While contesting at the pageant held in Benin, Edo State she had declared she was 25 years old and a few weeks after clocked 26.
The rumor seemingly gained more ground, when we all found out the reigning queen was not going to be representing Nigeria, at the very prestigious Miss World Competition later on in the year- 2012.

Dbanj To Release A New Single Today Titled 'Oyato'

There is this confirmed gist that the award winning international star, Dbanj (the koko master himself) would release a new single titled Oyato today.

D'banj had earlier this week, on monday to be precise hinted his fan that he had a 'surprise' package for them and that they should watch out today (14th July), for the 'surprise'. His tweet:

This will be the first single the artiste will be releasing after the massive break up with Mo Hits few months ago. Also according to our source, the single promises to be a club hit.

Sylvester Stallone's Son Found Dead After Drugs Overdose

Sylvester's son dies tragically of an overdose.

News has broken that Sage Stallone, the son of Sylvester Stallone had died yesterday, Friday, July 13.

Sage died of an overdose of pills. He was 36.

Sylvester's rep, Michelle Bega, tells us, "Sylvester Stallone is devastated and grief-stricken over the sudden loss of his son Sage Stallone. His compassion and thoughts are with Sage's mother, Sasha. Sage was a very talented and wonderful young man. His loss will be felt forever."

A source close to Sage tells us, exclusively, "This comes a s complete shock! Sage was just at his agent's office a couple of weeks ago and he seemed perfectly fine. Sage was a really good person. Everyone is just devastated."

Sage was an actor, director, and producer. He appear in two of his dad's films, Rocky V and Daylight. In 1996, he co-founded his own production company, Grindhouse Releasing.

He has one brother, Seargeoh Stallone. He also has three half-sister from his father's third marriage to Jennifer Flavin: Sistine, Sophia, and Scarlet Stallone.

Jennifer Lopez Confirms She’s Leaving ‘American Idol’1 Day After Steven Tyler Announces Departure

'I honestly feel that the time has come that I have to get back to doing the other things that I do that I put kind of on hold because I love ‘Idol’ so much,' Lopez said Friday morning

Jennifer Lopez is the latest judge to flee “American Idol.”The Bronx-born singer made the announcement Friday during “On Air with Ryan Seacrest,” one day after fellow judge Steven Tyler also confirmed he’s stepping away from the show.
“I honestly feel that the time has come that I have to get back to doing the other things that I do that I put kind of on hold because I love ‘Idol’ so much,” Lopez, 42, tells Seacrest, who also hosts the Fox singing competition.
“You have a lot of other responsibilities, and a lot of other things that you do and you have to pay attention to that too,” Lopez adds. “I could keep just doing ‘Idol’ for the rest of my life, but that would be giving up a bunch of other things. We had an amazing run.”
She admits it was a rough decision to made.
“It’s just been a really long thought process,” Lopez says. “I’ve been telling the absolute truth in the sense that I really have been torn since we spoke about it, even before the finale, like what are we going to do next year.”

But Lopez pointed out she had originally only signed on to do one year of the show, but stayed for two.
“I didn’t know I would be so moved emotionally by working on the show and working with the contestants,” Lopez says. “It was just such a lovely surprise in my life to do it.”
The show’s third judge, Randy Jackson, may also be on his way out.
He plans to leave his judging job, and move into a mentoring role on “Idol,” a source told Us Weekly.
Mariah Carey is in serious talks to step into one of the empty judge’s seats, according to the magazine.
Lopez left open the chance to make appearances on the show in the future.
“I feel like no matter what you guys need over there, I’m always going to be here,” she told Seacreast. “If you call me and say, ‘We need you to come for the first show,’ I’m like, ‘Yes ok!’ ‘We need you to come and be a mentor.’ ‘Alight.’ I feel like there’s just that tie there.”

REVEALED: Psquare's Mum Died Few Hours After Heart Surgery In India

The Nigeria entertainment circle and fans of Psquare (Peter and Paul Okoye) are still in shock over the sudden death of Psquare's mum Mrs. Josephine Okoye. The late mother of the Okoye's had been ill for some time, and was operated on in an Indian hospital a few hours before she gave up the ghost last night.

According to NET, she passed away about five hours after undergoing heart surgery.

A statement from Psquare’s publicist says

‘Josephine Okoye, who had battled with prolonged illness, passed away in an Indian hospital in Kolkata, last night July 11, 2012 at 11PM.’

Speaking to NET at his residence, Peter Okoye said their late mother suffered from diabetes.

We’re told she had earlier been admitted to St. Nicholas hospital in Lagos, but was flown out of the country when her condition worsened.

The atmosphere at Squareville, the Omole Phase 1 home of the Okoye brothers – Peter, Paul and Jude, was somber, less than a day after the news broke.

Friends and colleagues of the award-winning singers have been visiting the house to commiserate with the family.

A condolence register has been opened, and some of those who paid early visits include their album marketer, T-Joe, producers Flip Tyce and Samklef and TV host Helen Paul-Bamisile.

While Peter Okoye opened up his doors to speak with NET, Paul was not seen anywhere in the vicinity.

‘You know that she was a prayer warrior, so I don’t need to tell you how she stood by us spiritually. Besides, she was the only one that believed in us when we decided to make a career out of music.
I can remember that she used to sneak us out at night then to attend shows without the consent of our father who insisted that we must quit music to face our education’, Peter recounts.

She is survived by her Jos based husband, her children Ifeanyi, Henry, Jude, Lilian, Tony, Peter, Paul and Mary, as well as her grand-children, including Cameron, Peter’s son.

Katy Perry Told To Stop Wearing Spinning Bra

Katy Perry has been told by her insurers to stop wearing one of her trademark stage costumes.
According to The Sun, they are worried the Firework singer will catch her hair in her so-called 'peppermint dress' and injure herself.

K-Pez is quoted by the newspaper as saying: "I keep being told the insurers are worried I will injure my neck.
"I seriously doubt it could be lethal, but they want a new bra designed that will not allow hair to be caught up."

Katy has admitted that her wigs have got caught up in the bra in past, explaining: "My hair got caught in the wheels of my spinning peppermint bra and began to coil around and around.
"I'm forced to just go with it so, by the end of the song, it looked quite like I was licking my own tit. What a girl does for her art."

An unnamed source added: "It may seem trivial but a simple pulled muscle can stop a performer like Katy from going on. Insurers don't care about the art of the fun - just the dangers."
Katy wears the infamous peppermint dress in her new 3D movie, Part Of Me, but thankfully in an accident free performance.

'American Idol' Contestant Sues MTV For $40 Million

A singer who competed on the second season of 'American Idol,' filed a libel lawsuit on Thursday against MTV Networks for more than $40 million, claiming he was unfairly ridiculed by one of its news reporters.

The lawsuit claims that after Corey Clark was disqualified from 'American Idol,' having reached its 'Top 10' finalists, MTV News correspondent Jim Cantiello falsely attacked Clark as a liar and called for a boycott of his music.

Clark was disqualified on March 31, 2003, after 'Idol' officials learned he had faced three misdemeanor charges, including one battery charge involving his sister. He was later acquitted of two of the three charges and pleaded guilty to obstruction of justice, the lawsuit said.

Clark's lawsuit said Cantiello, who wrote for MTV as an expert on 'Idol,' defamed the singer in a series of online posts from early 2007 through July 2011. In them, he described Clark as a 'degenerate,' accused him of lying about the charges, falsely called him an 'alleged sister-beater' after the charges were dropped, and instructed readers to boycott his debut album.

Additionally, the lawsuit states that Cantiello repeatedly ridiculed Clark about a relationship with "Idol" judge Paula Abdul, saying Clark had invented the romance. The lawsuit claims Clark and Abdul were, in fact, involved.

MTV's parent company, Viacom Inc, also was named in the suit, which was filed in Tennessee District Court in Nashville.

You were quite notorious with the women, why was that and what did these women see in you?

Unfortunately for me, all the women I had relationships with, were very popular and powerful women way ahead of me in the entertainment industry. I once dated a Miss Nigeria, a very popular actress and a few others. What made me popular was like a mystery. When people wanted to know who I was and how I got to date those women, they started digging and that was how I became relevant. It was not the awards I received that brought me fame, it was the ladies I was connected to.

The Ball Room of the Oriental Hotel in Lekki, Lagos, was specially opened for Don Jazzy and his crew who treated a mammoth crowd to a series 0f performances. From the reactions, fans were obviously thrilled, roaring louder anytime Don Jazzy got on stage.

Nollywood Actress, Uche Jombo Speaks About Her Secret Wedding And Her Husband

In an exclusive interview with Bella Naija , Uche speaks about having the wedding of her dreams and her husband.

The Wedding of her Dreams

The news has been buzzing for a while that you got married in Puerto Rico last month, but you’ve been quiet about it. Why?
Because I have an exclusive publication already on that and eventually, BN would also have it. I also don’t want it to just be all over the place. The whole point was doing something that is totally unexpected. People were busy writing what they didn’t know. I have a right to say this is the information I want out and this is the information I don’t want out.
Also because it has stopped being me and now us, we have to continuously agree to how we want stuff done. I am from a different background and my partner is from a different background. We just wanted to savour the moment.

I’m itching to hear more about your wedding. Was it a fairy tale kind of wedding?
It was exactly the kind of wedding I wanted. Every bride has a dream wedding. I had always wanted that kind of simple beach wedding. I went on vacation last year in Puerto Rico Island and I loved it and I said I would like to come back there for my wedding.

Tell me about your husband. Where is he from? How did you meet him?
Contrary to what i’ve been hearing in the media, he is American and not from Puerto Rico. He has been to Puerto Rico twice and those times were with me. Once on vacation and then we went back for our wedding. He is a New Yorker, he works and lives in New York.
Also, contrary to what I’ve been hearing that I met him online, no I did not. He came to talk to me about some business venture and that’s how we started talking. I met him through a mutual friend who is his business partner.

What attracted you to him?
His positive energy, it’s amazing.

How long did you date before getting married?
Not up to a year. I met him last year.

Was there any particular reason why Desmond Elliott was the only Nollywood star that attended your wedding?
He is one of my oldest friends in Nollywood. I don’t know anybody as long as I’ve known Desmond in Nollywood.

Were you able to have most of your family members in Puerto Rico to share your memorable day with you?
No, not everybody.

What is the most romantic thing your husband has ever said or done for you?
He is not like anybody I’ve met before. He is certainly the most romantic person I’ve ever met in my whole life, needless to say that is why I married him.

Wow, that’s really sweet. How did he propose to you?
He actually proposed twice! The first time, we just continued talking. The second time, we went jet skiing and I was so scared. The water was so deep, you had to swim like eight feet into the water to get to the bike. I consider myself a very good swimmer but that day, the tides kept pushing me back. By the time I got there, I was so mad, I said “I am so going to kill you” and he said “why don’t you just marry me and then you can kill me afterwards”. And I was like “very funny”, and he said “you haven’t given me an answer”. That was when I knew. Since I didn’t kill him there I said I was going to go back to that exact beach and have our wedding there.

You’re here in Nigeria and he is back in America. How are you coping with the long distance separating you both?
It’s not really long distance because I’m only here when I’m working. When I’m not working, I’m with him.

I know it’s been just over a month now but how has married life been for you so far?
Well, we just started so we are still at that point where everything is rosy.

Is there going to be any name change for you?
There was in the marriage license but because I’m a brand, in order not to confuse people, you can still call me Uche Jombo. Uche Jombo and Mrs. Rodriguez are two different people. One is the brand and one is the wife.

Following the press release by Charly Boy that Ed Jatto, publisher of Danfo Express, should play the tape depicting Charly Boy as a gay and member of the Illuminati,

at a public press conference, Jatto has reacted by saying that he would prefer to meet Charly Boy in court.

“I find it laughable that Charly Boy is subtly backtracking now,” said Jatto. “He knows I have the tape, I told him when he asked me, and if he had asked to listen to it then, I wouldn’t have minded playing it to him.
“As it is now, I am not interested in playing it to him at any kangaroo press conference. Charly Boy believes so much in suing people. We all know he has sued National Mirror and now he wants to sue me too. So, I’ll just say he should go ahead and sue and we’ll meet in court where the tape will eventually be played for the whole world to hear.”
Jatto added that “I like men who stick to their words, which he hasn’t done. When the tape is played in court and I’m vindicated, I would press for damages because he has caused me considerable embarrassment. It is too late for him now to start asking me to bring the tape to a press conference.
”I have known Charly Boy for a long time now, since the 80s, so as far as I’m concerned, we still remain friends, despite this issue, but as a man of dignity, I will let him know that he just can’t sling my name in the mud anyhow.”

See The World's Largest Ice Cream Which Took A Whole Month To Freeze

With much of the country suffering under heavy rainfall, not everyone will be reaching for an ice cream.

But that hasn't stopped experimental chef Heston Blumenthal unveiling the world's largest 99 cone - complete with a massive flake.

Heston, notorious for creating bacon and egg ice cream in his three-Michelin starred restaurant The Fat Duck, presented the colossal treat to the hungry crowd in Gloucester.

The massive ice cream was more than four metres tall, and contained a tonne of ice cream - which took a whole month to freeze.
Classic toppings like hundreds and thousands and strawberry sauce were scattered on top of the monster cone using a catapult - but most of it failed to stick.
