Senate Probes Presidency On N1.3bn Budget On Feeding

9
The Presidency has explained that over N500 million had been budgeted for meals and refreshment in the 2012 budget largely due to the high volume of statutory meetings that are expected to hold in the Presidential villa.

Permanent Secretary in the State House, Tunji Olaopa said this in his presentation before a Senate Committee in defence of the N18.353 billion allocated in the 2012 budget for the State House.

The Senate Committee on Federal Character and Inter-governmental Affairs called the allocation outrageous.

“Is the purchase of residential furniture for N295 million for the residence of the president? Also you have N265 million for computers, you bought computers last year, do you still want to buy computers this year again?” the chairman of the committee, Senator Dahiru Awaisu Kuta (PDP, Niger East), queried.
From the budget presentaion, refreshement and meals for 2012 is N293.6 million, while N312.316 million was spent on the same in 2011.

Food stuff and catering material supplies is slated to take up N476.966 million of the nation's budget, N573.934 million was spent on the same in 2011.

Family And Friends Mounts Pressure On Rita Dominic To Marry?

0
Popular screen goddess, Rita Nwaturiocha Dominic, apart from having an alluring appeal that makes one feel welcome, her smooth, soft voice is sensuous, especially when she wears one of her red trade mark lipsticks, which she has traded for a more matured look for now.

Without mincing words, Rita is the fans’ delight anyday, anytime.

Rita's stage presence in movies largely draws from the emotions and passion with which she enraptures her audience, as she successfully interprets her roles to the last detail. Often as sweet as candy, she's got the looks such that one could at once feel she was born for the screens.

In the case at hand, this particular actress seems to be finding right men for marriage elusive. She was at a time said to be dating Nollywood bad boy,Jim Iyke, she was said to be very serious with him,but their love story was put on hold when Jim was not forthcoming with marriage proposal.

Although Rita denies her supposed relationship with Jim then by saying:
I'm not denying the fact that Jim and I are good friends. If you ask him if he could add somebody else to his family, he would add me to his family, likewise me. To me you can have a best friend that is a guy and there's nothing happening between you.I's just a pity that here when they see you guys talking or playing, they say you guys are going out.
Apart from Jim Iyke, she has been romantically linked with several other guys that yielded no fruit.
In a nutshell, the talented thespian has not been lucky with men.

The latest gist swirling around the actress is that she is right now under unprecedented pressure by friends and family to marry and settle down.

The family was concerned that the concept of success should be all encompassing and not limited to money and stardom which are temporal.

On the side of well meaning friends, the ground for pressure is that as a woman a little bit above forty that her biological clock is ticking.

Let’s hope that the wedding bells will soon be ringing

Court Frees Dimeji Bankole And Nafada On N38B Loan Scam

0
An Abuja High Court presided over by Justice Suleiman Belgore on Tuesday absolved the embattled former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dimeji Bankole and his erstwhile Deputy, Bayero Nafada, of any crime by obtaining N38 billion loan from UBA for the payment of an enhanced package and running cost for members of the House of Representatives.
Bankole’s lawyers led by Chief Adegboyega Awomolo, a senior advocate of Nigeria, in an application brought before the court on behalf of the former Speaker and his Deputy for the quashing of the charges slammed against them by the Economic and Financoial Crimes Commission, EFCC, had argued that an account number issued by a bank cannot be said to be a property to be owned or entrusted as alleged in the charge for which Bankole and Nafada are being tried.
He stated that an account number cannot be subject to ownership.
In quashing the charge, Justice Belgore noted that the record increment in members’ allowance by obtaining the N38 billion loan was immoral, wrong and condemnable, especially given the abject poverty to which a great majority of Nigerians have been forced to exist under, but went on to hold that Bankole and Nafada had committed no crime.
The court further held that the the House of Representatives has power to use its funds in ways it deemed fit whether as running costs or enhancement of welfare package and that such discretion exercised by the House over its funds does not amount to a crime.
Justice Belgore also maintained that constitutionally, the Speaker had nothing to do with the accounts of the House of Representatives and rapped the Clerk of the House whose function it is to manage the Accounts of the House for allowing the Speaker to usurp the powers of his office.
He further noted that it is the Clerk, not Bankole and Nafada, who should be charged with securing and disbursing the loans.

Photos Of Uncivilized And Uncontacted Indian Tribe Who Still Walk About Naked

0
New world: A family from the Mashco-Piro Indian tribe in remote south-eastern Peru has been photographed up close for the first time
These incredible images are the closest ever recorded of a previously uncontacted Indian tribe in the remote forests of Peru.
Taken in Manú National Park, south-eastern Peru, these detailed images show the daily life of a family from the Mashco-Piro tribe.
The Mashco-Piro are known to inhabit the park, but sightings of them have increased in recent months.

Remote: A member of the uncontacted tribe holds a knife made from wood and a capybara tooth in this image

Illegal logging in the park and low flying helicopters from nearby oil and gas projects has been blamed for driving the Indians from their forest homes.
The Mashco-Piro are one of around just 100 known uncontacted tribes who choose not to have contact with the outside world. They live a traditional life in the Peruvian forests and have little or no outside contact with the world.
Families within the tribes fashion tools from wood and other materials, including the teeth of animals.
In these pictures, the adults and children are wearing decorative loops around their wrists, knees and ankles - some of which can be used to carry tools.

The adult female is also wearing a form of skirt which is believed to be made from pulped tree bark fibres.
The danger of attempting to establish contact with tribes who choose to remain isolated has recently been confirmed after the death of an indigenous Matsigenka man.

Nicolás 'Shaco' Flores was shot in the heart by an arrow near the national park as he was leaving food and gifts for a small group of Mashco-Piro Indians - something he had been doing for the last 20 years.
Glenn Shephard, an anthropologist and friend of the victim, told Anthropology News: 'Shaco's death is a tragedy: he was kind, courageous and a knowledgeable man.
'He believed he was helping the Mashco-Piro. And yet in this tragic incident, the Mashco-Piro have once again expressed their adamant desire to be left alone.'
Clan members have also been blamed for a bow-and-arrow attack which left a forest ranger wounded in October.
One of the images was taken by a bird watcher in August. The other two were taken by Spanish archaeologist Diego Cortijo on November 16, six days before Flores was killed.
Mr Cortijo, a member of the Spanish Geographical Society, was visiting Mr Flores on an expedition in search of petroglyphs and said clan members appeared across the river, calling for him by name.

Flores was able to communicate with the Mashco-Piro because he spoke two related dialects and had provided the clan with machetes and cooking pots.
The Mashco-Piro tribe is believed to number in the hundreds and lives in the park bordering Diamante, a community of around 200 people.
The clan that appeared along the river is believed to number around 60, including some 25 adults, according to Carlos Soria - a professor at Lima's Catholic University.
Mr Cortijo said: 'It seemed like they wanted to draw a bit of attention, which is a bit strange because I know that on other occasions they had attacked people.
'It seemed they didn't want us to go near them, but I also know that the only thing that they wanted was machetes and cooking pots.'
Content: Attempts to get in contact with the tribes have generally proved fatal for the Indians, who have no immunity to common diseases outside their forest homes

Mr Soria said: 'The place where they are seen is one of heavy transit of river cargo and tourist passage, and so the potential for more violent encounters remains high.'
The Mashco-Piro live by their own social code, which includes the practice of kidnapping other tribes' women and children.
They are one of around 15 uncontacted tribes in Peru which together amount to an estimated 15,000 people living in jungles east of the Andes.
State authorities issued a directive in August barring boats from going ashore in the area.
But enforcing it has been difficult as there are few trained and willing local officials.
Mr Shephard told Mail Online: 'There is a tremendous curiosity about who these people are, why do they hide?
'Some people have tried to contact them, to take pictures.
'One person even left a Bible in a plastic bag on the river bank so they could find it, hoping it would save their soul.
'They are in a difficult situation. Do they come out and accept contact, come out and face the prospect of diseases.
'They need a lot of room, they don't have gardens or agriculture so they just hunt. Their territory is getting smaller because of loggers and oil companies, and there is a lot more tourism, they just feel caged in on all sides.'
Uncontacted tribe in Peru

Do they come out and accept contact, come out and face prospects of diseases. need a lot of room, don't have agriculture or gardens, just hunt. Territory gets smaller because of loggers and oil companies, lot more tourism, they just feel caged in on all sides.
It was unclear why Flores was killed. It could be that the tribe was anger he had not provided more equipment, or they may have considered the farming plot where he was killed was too close to their territory.
Mr Cortijo added: 'The problem is that "Shaco" was the only person who could talk to them. Now that he's dead it's impossible to make contact.'

Beatriz Huertas, a Peruvian expert on uncontacted tribes, told Survival International the case was 'unusual, complex and extremely delicate'.
She said: 'Contact could happen at any time. We must implement preventative measures and a contingency plan with local authorities as soon as possible to ensure this does not happen again.'
Last year, Survival International wrote to SERNANP - Peru's Ministry for Protected Areas - after a video emerged showing tourists leaving clothes for the Indians on riverbanks.
The area was subsequently closed off to tourists and an emergency warning issued to residents.
The Indian tribesmen are vulnerable to common diseases, because they have not built up immunity to the viruses and bacteria outside their forest home.
In 1987, statistics showed that 50 per cent of Indians who had been contacted died within a year due to disease.
The new images come exactly a year after pictures taken from a helicopter of a tribe on the Peruvian/Brazilian border emerged.
In those images, Indians could be seen daubed in red paint, standing among their thatched dwellings and gardens in the Juvari Valley.
But in August, fears were raised after the tribe went missing when drug traffickers overran Brazilian guards posted to protect their lands.
No trace of the tribe was found after a guard post was destroyed in western Brazil, and a broken arrow was found in the backpack of an arrested drug trafficker.
Survival's Director Stephen Corry said: 'One year later these photos provide yet more overwhelming evidence of the existence of uncontacted tribes.
'It is no longer acceptable for governments, companies or anthropologists to deny this.
'First contact is always dangerous and frequently fatal – both for the tribe and those attempting to contact them. The Indians' wish to be left alone should be respected.'

The driver, identified as Godwin Etute, allegedly murdered the teenager called Tolu Gbadamosi, dumped her by the road side and drove off.

The 26-year old suspect was arrested by the police at Ikotun Division on a tip-off by someone who saw him when he dumped the victim and drove off.

The incident happened at Egbe in Alimosho area of Lagos State where both worked in a popular private school (name withheld).

In anger, Etute allegedly brought out a screw driver and stabbed Tolu. She collapsed and died inside the school bus.

The police were later contacted and they arrested Etute.

The incident has thrown the management of the school and the family of the deceased into mourning.

The Real Story: Inside Heidi Klum & Seal’s Sad Split (Photo)

0
The current issue of Us Magazine features the cover story ‘Behind Closed Doors – Heidi’s Private Hell.’  Obehi Okoawo's Blog reported this weekend that the almost seven year marriage of Heidi Klum and Seal was on the rocks.  The couple have four kids. Six year old Henry Samuel , five year old Johan Samuel and two year old Lou Samuel . Seal adopted The Project Runway star’s daughter Leni Samuel – aged 7 – when they got married in 2005.
Us Magazine claims that Heidi was stuck in hell during their marriage.  There were vicious fights, jealousy and their four children were caught in the middle.  They go on to say that Heidi and Seal’s perfect marriage was just a facade.
It is really hard to believe that is the case, Seal was on Ellen DeGeneres less than 24 hours after announcing his split and had nothing but good things to say about Heidi.  As a matter of face Seal was still wearing his wedding ring.   So maybe there is hope for the couple’s marriage.  One thing for certain only Heidi and Seal know what happened, not the magazine.  People’s cover story also claims they have the inside details on why the couple split.  This is all just speculation on their part!  What do you think, is this just groundless speculation by US to sell magazines?  Sound out in the comments below!

0
The controversial marriage between Alist actress Stephanie Okereke and ex footballer chikelu has been annulled by Justice Phillips of the lagos high court and rendered null and void with a loud bang of the judges hammer on the table!
"The annullment was pronounced on Friday December 9,2011 with the judge telling Stephanie the marriage was not valid because as at the time their union was conducted in a court registry,he(chikelu)was still legally married to another woman in the US.....a news which took many by suprise.
Continuing, the actress was told she could no longer be referred to as chikelu's ex wife if the marriage never took place in the first instance".
In other words Stephanie can no longer be referred to as a divorcee...Stunned by this revelation and armed with the good news that stephanie had fixed a February wedding with her boo Mr. Linus Idahosa,I contacted the actress to pass on good wishes and to solicit for an invite to the february wedding But her cellphone was switched off and olofofos explained why:::"She's probably not taking any calls at the moment and has been telling people that their wedding is not in February
"The olofofos continue"she was recently spotted with her beau explaining to some friends who wanted to know why they didn't get an invite and their explanation was that the wedding invites would soon be out but definitely not a febuary wedding'':
Actress Stephanie okereke shocked her fans and family when she married the ex-footballer in a hush hush court registry a few years back but the union barely survived a year and the couple parted ways. The actress also repeatedly stated in interviews that there was no traditional marriage and no bride price was paid.
Stephanie who has been dating Linus Idahosa, the CEO of Del-York International, got every womans dream proposal when linus went down on one knee on her birthday in 2010 and asked her to marry him.
Stephanie aside from acting and being a brand name to some international firms also runs her own producrion company called nextpage production whilst her boo linus idahosa is an international media
consultant with global repute and has clients in the US,nigeria, and enjoys patronage from some of the biggest blue chip companies in Nigeria.

Muslims Disown Boko Haram

0
The Muslim Ummah of Southwest (MUSWEN) has dissociated itself from the activities of the Boko Haram sect.
The group condemned the sect for unleashing violence on the nation, including the killing and maiming of innocent people.
The communique by its President and Executive Secretary, Prof Daud Noibi and Prof Ishaq Oloyede, decried the sect's violent activities.
According to the Nations Newspaper:
MUSWEN noted that Boko Haram's activities have no place in Islam, the religion it described as peace-loving.
The communique reads: "We repeat unequivocally our earlier condemnation of the use of violence to settle scores in the Nigerian polity and dissociate ourselves from all the dastardly acts claimed by the group, known as Boko Haram.
"We declare that the violent activities of the group are against the dictates of Islam, which is a religion of peace, and the group, therefore, is not representative of the Muslims in Southwest Nigeria and the country as a whole.
"Religious ignorance, indoctrination, provocation and intolerance should be seriously and frontally tackled."
To tackle these challenges, MUSWEN urged the Federal Government to make Islamic Studies and Christian Religious Studies compulsory up to secondary school level, saying this would enhance moral values and instil the fear of God in youths.

It advised "that branches of the Nigeria Inter-Religious Council (NIREC) should be urgently established in every state to be a meeting point for Muslim and Christian leaders at the grassroots to discuss issues affecting their religions and thereby foster peace and harmony among their congregations".
MUSWEN added: "Government security apparatus should pay greater attention to intelligence gathering to nip criminality in the bud.
"Governments at all levels - Executive, Legislature and Judiciary at local, state and federal - should take practical, transparent and verifiable steps to enforce the country's laws against acts of corruption, and drastically reduce wastage and the cost of governance in order to regain the trust of the Nigerian people.
"State governments, especially in the Southwest, should establish agricultural projects and farm settlements in every local government to provide employment, boost food production and reduce hunger and poverty in the land."

Edo State Attorney-General And Commissioner For Justice Sentenced To 30 Days In Prison For Contempt Of Court

0
The Federal High Court in Benin yesterday sentenced Edo State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Dr. Osagie Obayuwana, to one month jail for contempt in a case pending against him before the court.
Justice Adamu Hobon, who sentenced Obayuwana, had last week adjourned till yesterday for the hearing of committal proceedings against the attorney-general. At that sitting, Hobon had expressed concern over Obayuwana's continued absence in court despite an earlier order directing him to appear in person over the case.
Consequently, the court ordered the commissioner of police to execute the bench warrant by effecting Obayuwana's arrest.
Even as the case came up for hearing yesterday, Obayuwana was absent, which eventually forced the court to sentence him in his absence.
The committal proceedings was brought against the attorney-general and  the State Secretary of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), Chief Osaro Idah, by Churchgate Industries Limited over the state government's alleged refusal to obey an injunction given against it in 2003 by the Federal High Court, Benin City.
The court had, upon hearing the case instituted by Churchgate, restrained the government from interfering with the management of Bendel Brewery Limited. The company was said to be the core investor following a privatisation agreement between the state and Churchgate in 1992.
The injunction of the Federal High Court was later upheld by the Court of Appeal, Benin on October 17, 2006, which dismissed the appeal filed by the government for lack of merit.
It was gathered that dispute arose between Churchgate and the government in 2003 over the management of Bendel Brewery, previously owned and managed by Edo State government.
Thereafter the control of the brewery was transferred to Churchgate in 1992 under a privatisation agreement, which gave 51 per cent equity to Churchgate, leaving the state with 24 per cent and 19 per cent to the public.
The recent dispute was ignited when the state attempted to reassume management of the brewery despite the pendency of the privatisation agreement.
Confirming the sentence, Edo State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Umar Manko, said though he did not personally arrest attorney-general, it was the judge's insistence that jailed him.
"I did not arrest him. I am in Abuja, but I was told that that the man reported himself in court and despite intervention of some people, the judge insisted that they should remand the man in prison", he said.
He disclosed that last week, the court registrar actually brought a warrant of arrest to his office and he told them that this matter was better settled between the state government and Churchgate, adding, "The police did not play any role at all in the matter."

40-Year Old Nigerian Gets 18 Years Jail Term In Canada For $1.5Million Credit Fraud

0
A Canadian man accused of masterminding one of the largest high-tech bank robberies in U.S. history was sentenced to nearly 18 years in prison on Monday following a years-long investigation into fake debt collection agencies that prosecutors say stole the identities of about 38,000 people.
Adekunle Adetiloye was accused of organizing a scheme to open nearly 600 fraudulent bank accounts and bilk 22 major banks, potentially costing credit card firms and banks up to $5 million. Assistant U.S. Attorney Nick Chase in North Dakota, where the case was handled, said the 40-year-old had an "insatiable hunger for other people's money."
Defense attorneys had argued that their client, the only person charged in the case, was a "marginal and minimal participant" whose role was to handle mail and withdraw money from ATMs. But prosecutors and the judge believed he was central to the scheme.
Investigators said Adetiloye incorporated two different companies in Delaware - Syspac Financial Services and Commet Consultant Inc. - that claimed to be debt collection companies. He gained access to commercial data providers, including large-scale outfits LexisNexis and ChoicePoint that only allow access to law enforcement, financial services and debt collection companies.
With access to those data providers, Adetiloye and others obtained the personal identification information to about 38,000 people, most of whom were medical professionals, and used that information to open credit card, debit and checking accounts, prosecutors said.
Those data providers said it was only the second such breach of that scale.
"Characterizing this fraud scheme as massive, if anything, is an understatement," Chase said in court documents.

Investigators' interest in Adetiloye, a native of Nigeria, was piqued after figuring out he was unemployed and receiving welfare yet living lavishly, complete with a Range Rover vehicle, extended trips to England and an expensive condominium. Then there were two credit cards tucked away in his wallet the each bore different names - Donald Douglas and Vincent Andriole - that seemed to confirm suspicions that he was up to something nefarious.
The judge calculated losses to banks at about $1.5 million, but said it could have been as high as $5 million if credit limits had been maxed out.

So Somebody Actually Wore This To An Award Nite?

0
She's barely known outside her native France but certainly made an impression at last night's NRJ Awards.

Her name is Shy'm and she is 26-year-old.

Ooh La La! French singer Shy'm turned to tonight's NRJ Awards at the at the Palais des Festivals et des Congres in Cannes wearing a transparent plastic corset

Her stunning figure was on full display - though to an extreme which might make viewing her performance before the watershed a little questionable.

Shy'm wore a toga-like white sheet around her waist to form a skirt, creating a Grecian-style effect- and bared a great deal of thigh in the process.

The singer's corset looked like it might have been custom-moulded to fit her perfectly.

Al-Mustapha And Shofolahan Sentenced To Death By Hanging For The Murder Of Kudirat Abiola

0
A Lagos High Court on Monday sentenced to death by hanging Maj. Hamza Al-Mustapha, the Chief Security Officer to the late Gen. Sani Abacha, for the murder of a pro-democracy activist, Mrs. Kudirat Abiola.
Kudirat was one of the wives of the late Chief MKO Abiola, the acclaimed winner of the June 12, 1993 presidential election.
Justice Mojisola Dada sentenced Al-Mustapha, along with Kudirat's aide, Lateef Shofolahan.
Dada said that evidence before the court was weighty and showed that the duo conspired and killed Kudirat on June 4, 1996, near the Ikeja end of the former Lagos-Ibadan Toll Gate.
The judge said that the prosecution proved beyond reasonable doubts that the duo met between March 1995 and June 4, 1996 to plot the murder of  Kudirat.
She said that the court believed the evidence of the first prosecution witness, Barnabas Jabila  (a.k.a. Sgt. Rogers), that the murder was plotted at the National Theatre, Iganmu, Lagos.
Dada also said that the court believed Jabila's evidence that Al-Mustapha gave him (Jabila) his personal gun to shot Kudirat inside her white Mercedez Benz Beast, near the toll gate.
``The second defendant willingly handed over Kudirat Abiola to her killer. The court is a fact-finding tribunal which must be seen to be doing its work without any bias and ambiguity.
`` The first and second defendants jointly agreed to kill Kudirat Abiola. The defendants are found guilty of conspiracy and murder.
`` The evidence is so weighty that the court has no doubts.  The defendants are, therefore, found guilty, as charged.
``The light shines in darkness and darkness comprehends it not. Those who shed blood are those who fear death most.
``The defendants are accordingly sentenced to death by hanging until they are proved dead,'' the judge held.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the prosecution team led by the Solicitor-General of Lagos State, Mr. Lawal Pedro, expressed satisfaction at the judgment.
However, the defence team, led by Mr. Olalekan Ojo, said  it would appeal against the judgment.
The judgment was delivered under tight security.

Sahara Reporters Replys President Jonathan On Patience Jonathan's 32 Delegates To AU Summit

0
Sahara Reporters has replied presidential spokesman, Dr. Reuben abati, that it lied in a report it carried that the President, Dr. Goodluck Jonahtna, contrary to his promise of cutting spending on foreign trips, went to the African Union Summit that ended today in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, with a delegation that did not fulfill his pledge.
According to the reply written by Omoyele Sowore, Sahara Reporters accused abati of being economical with the truth by not stating the fact that the First Lady was also attending another fringe meeting on the side of the AU meeting involving First Ladies of other countries and thus had her own entourage.
Sahara Reporters put the entourage of the First Lady at 32, which was the total number of delegates Abati said was on the trip to Ethiopia.
The publication challenged Abati to make available to Nigerians the names and designations of those officially on the trip to Ethiopia with Jonathan to prove that the delegation was indeed not more than 32.
The letter by Sowore reads:
"Dear Reuben Abati,
"I read your cleverly written letter to me regarding our latest report on President Goodluck Jonathan's junket to Ethiopia. In writing what purports to be a rejoinder, you deliberately left out details of our sms exchanges on the same issue. That omission, I suggest, was an attempt to evade the central issue raised in our report. Instead of confronting that issue – the list of delegates invited and sponsored by the Jonathan administration and his wife to Ethiopia – you chose to play a semantic game over what is a straight forward issue. I'll respond to your rejoinder pointedly.
"1. You sent me a text message on Friday claiming that our report on the Ethiopia trip was false and malicious because, according to you, there was a "mix up" somewhere. I quickly responded, telling you that a truthful report could never be malicious. Thereafter, you sent another text saying you didn't mean to criticize the report, but wanted to put matters straight. You proceeded to explain that there was only "one delegation" led by the president to Addis Ababa and that the number of people on the list was far lower than we reported. I quickly requested for the list. You responded by claiming that it was in your bag at your hotel room. However, you curiously sent another text claiming you couldn't reach some people involved in getting the list as it was "past midnight" in Addis Ababa. My last text to you was a reminder that I would be waiting for your response regarding the list and size of the delegation. That response never came; instead, you released this letter that pretends to be a refutation, but is rather an attempt at obfuscation.
"2. You claimed that there was a single list of delegates to Ethiopia. That claim amounts to a puerile effort to conceal the fact that Mrs. Patience Jonathan was attending a program of African First Ladies which was different from the AU summit being attended by President Jonathan. This meant that the "First Lady" was traveling with a retinue of staff, associates and hangers-on to aid or support her "official" activities at a separate event from that of President Jonathan.

"3. As the president's chief spokesman, you ought to have the delegate list. I challenge you then to provide the public with a breakdown of Mr. Jonathan's "one delegation entourage" to Addis Ababa, categorized in order of designation of officials, their date of travel, mode of travel, and explanation of whether they were part of the advance party or arrived in Addis Ababa in the same aircraft as the President – or in an extra aircraft that was deployed.
"4. From your letter, it is clear that you concede that some "Nigerians" may have traveled with the delegation "unofficially." Does this technical admission not defeat your initial insistence that there was only "one delegation"?
"5. SaharaReporters has a history of documenting the culture of waste occasioned by the profligate junkets by the Presidency. We are glad that your principal appears to have realized that wasteful trips need to be eliminated and the size of delegations cut – especially after the president's scandalous outing in Perth, Australia where an out-of-control delegation engaged in waste, corruption and even broke Australian laws.
"6. We maintain that "First Lady" Patience Jonathan traveled with a retinue of aides, friends and associates to the tune of 32 people. Their travels and accommodation were arranged and paid for by the Nigerian government. What you owe the public is an obligation to be transparent. In this event, that entails releasing your official delegates' list as well as names of associates, contractors, friends and "other Nigerians" the government gave a nod to visit along with the president and his wife on this trip to Addis Ababa. In other words, we await the release of that list that you claimed was in your bag in the hotel room in Addis Ababa. Thank you."

Christina Aguilera Had Fake Tan Spilling All Over Her Legs During Her Powerful Performance At Etta James's Funeral

0
Christina Aguilera must have been feeling the pressure of performing at the funeral of soul legend Etta James.

The singer was left red faced after a very unusual  malfunction at the star studded farewell at the Bishop Noel Jones City of Refuge in Gardena, California.

It wasn't just the 31-year-old's eyes that were running as she sang.

The Voice judge seemingly over did it with the fake tan and the result was unpleasant streaks down her leg.

As the blonde bombshell belted out a rendition of Etta's most popular song, At Last, lines of fake tan could be seen streaked down the inside of her thigh, across her shin.

It appeared Miss Aguilera was aware that something was awry as she attempted to subtly wipe her legs with the sleeve of her jacket just before she began to sing.
Christina Aguilera must have been feeling the pressure of performing at the funeral of soul legend Etta James.
