Horrific Ordeal Of 15 Year-Old Bride,Who Was Tortored And Mutilated By Husband's Family For Refusing To Work As A Prostitute

2
This teenage Afghan girl was brutally tortured, beaten and locked in a toilet by her husband's family for five months after she refused to become a prostitute, it emerged today.
Sahar Gul, 15, was in critical condition when she was rescued from a house in northern Baghlan province last week, after her neighbours reported hearing Miss Gul crying and moaning in pain.

According to police in Baghlan, her in-laws pulled out her nails and hair, and locked her in a dark basement bathroom for about five months, with barely enough food and water to survive.
Her husband's family also burned the teenager with cigarettes and cut out chunks of her flesh with pliers.
Despite being barely able to speak, Miss Gul managed to tell media about the terrifying ordeal.
'For several months I was locked up in a toilet by my in-laws and particularly my mother-in-law,' she s
'I was denied food and water. I was tortured and beaten.'Doctors say the youngster has suffered both mentally and physically and will need weeks of treatment in order to recover.

'She was married seven months ago, and was originally from Badakhshan province. Her in-laws tried to force her into prostitution to earn money,' Rahima Zarifi, head of women's affairs in Baghlan told Reuters.

Miss Gul is covered in scars and bruises, with one eye still swollen shut six days after her rescue.
She is being treated in a government hospital in Kabul, but she may have to be sent to India, doctors said.
'This is one of the worst cases of violence against Afghan women. The perpetrators must be punished so others learn a lesson,' health minister Suraya Dalil told journalists after visiting Miss Gul today with the women's affairs minister.
Mohammad Zia, a senior police official in Baghlan, who helped to rescue the girl, said Miss Gul's mother-in-law and sister-in-law have been detained, but her husband and father-in-law had escaped.
'We have launched a serious hunt to get her husband and the others involved,' Mr Zia said.

51 Year-Old HIV Positive Man Delibrately Slept With 3,000 Men And Wwomen

0
An HIV-positive man has potentially infected thousands of people - by having unprotected sex so he could spread the disease.
David Dean Smith, 51, turned himself in to a Michigan police station last week - after claiming to have slept with 3,000 men and women over several years.
A detective investigating the case said: 'He says he intentionally attempted to spread the disease to kill people.
'His latest fantasy is strangling a woman and having sex with her dead body.'

It is unclear when Smith was diagnosed with HIV, but he claims to have known full well what he was doing when he had unprotected sex with many partners over the past few years.
While he claims that there may be thousands of victims, so far he has only been arraigned and charged with two counts of AIDS-sexual penetration with an uninformed partner.

Neither of the two victims that police are aware of have been identified, but one has spoken to reporters in an effort to help other women realize if they may be infected.
She said that once she was tested, she immediately knew it was Smith who infected her. The two met through a Yahoo! Personals listing and, in speaking with MSNBC, she called him a 'sociopath' and 'a predator'.

Quack Health-Care Worker Infects Four Children With HIV/AIDS

2
HERE are palpable fears among the  people of Bejin in Bosso Local Government Area of Niger State, following their bitter taste of medical quackery, as four of their children were transfused with HIV/AIDs infected blood by a community health worker, who operated an illegal hospital in the area.
Saturday Tribune investigation further gathered that the fears of the people stemmed from the fact that the said  health worker (names withheld) had allegedly been operating in the community unchallenged by the officials of the state’s Ministry of health for  almost two years,  after which the lid was blown off his criminal activities two weeks ago, when he allegedly  transfused the four children who had malaria with the infected blood.
It was further  learnt that he had admitted the children as patients, but the situation of the children allegedly deteriorated, which made the parents to seek medical help in  another hospital where it was allegedly discovered that the blood administered on  the children had  been  infected with HIV.
Further checks, however, revealed that the officials of the Niger State Ministry of Health, who were said to have been tipped off  through the state’s  Agency for the Control of HIV/AIDS swung into action and invited the police to arrest the health worker.
It  could, however, not be ascertained where the infected blood was sourced by the suspect before  it was transfused into the  affected children, just as  it was gathered that the blood might have been donated by one of the villagers without  being screened with the usual  procedural test as is the case in public or private hospitals.
Confirming the incident in an interview with the Saturday  Tribune on Thursday in Minna, the state capital,  was the state’s Commissioner of Health and Hospital Services, Mallam Yahaya Dansallawu,  who said, “we have set  up a committee which visited Bejin on Thursday  and we are awaiting the  report but we tested one of the four children we were told was involved and unfortunately the one we tested was actually HIV positive.”
The commissioner stated that the incident just got to the notice of the ministry about two weeks ago and the hospital has been closed down and the man handed over to the police. He added that the ministry would come out with the full report after the committee set up had submitted its report.

Sapele Explosion Was Not A Bomb.....Says Residents

0
Investigation conducted in the aftermath of the explosion that rocked an Islamic school in Sapele, Delta State, is not a bomb.
Reliable sources revealed that the explosion was from a locally made device thrown by some disgruntled element in the society, at the Central mosque located along a road by Hausa Road junction with heavy Muslim population. According to eye-witness accounts, the device seemed like big knock-out used in festive period like this – Xmas and New Year celebrations.

“If it was a bomb, it would have shattered some buildings, and shake houses in the vicinity, but even fluorescent bulbs were still intact during the blast”, one of the eye-witness said.
The eye-witness added that if it was a bomb, it would have affected some buildings. “People were not running all about for safety even though knock-out blast could cause injury and panic”.
A resident of Sapele who wants anonymity said the explosion could be a revenge by the Christian community in response to the spate of actual bombings in some parts of the north which killed several people, including that on Christmas day in a church in Niger State.
Another resident who spoke with Vanguard said the device resembled “Ogbinigwe”, used during the Biafra war.
A source claimed that the explosion could be traced to the rivalry in the Sapele Muslim community between the Nada group – a core, separate entity who does not want to be associated or worship with the Yoruba people.

“The incident is more political than religious, looking at the rivalry in the quest for leadership of the Muslim community. The spiritual leadership of the community in the past had followed a kind of quota system with the Yoruba and Hausa observing a kind of turn-by-turn arrangement which has recently collapsed.”
By this explanation, the belief in some quarters that the Sapele explosion was a revenge against what Boko Haram was doing against Christians in the north may not be corrected, that Moslems also are victims of the Boko Haram attack the northerner states. Also that Moslems and Christians in Sapele had lived peacefully together for several decades in friendship as many of the Muslims were born and bred in the town.
Our source also indicated that an experienced military officer (retired) who inspected the particles of the device said it was locally made and those who made the explosion are still living in Sapele.
“The question of insecurity has become a national problem. If there is no security in Sapele, there cannot be security in Abuja, Calabar, Lagos, Ibadan, Kafunchan or any place for that matter”.
Meanwhile, security has been tightened among the victims. Some of them are in Sapele General Hospital and other hospitals in the state. Although, at the time of this report, no arrest has been made and nobody has claimed responsibility.

The chief imam of Sapele Central Mosque, Alhaji Muhammed Usman was reported to have said the explosion was done “to exterminate the Muslim pupil” and called on the government to tighten up security around Muslim community in Sapele.
As at the time of the incident, it was estimated that about 50 children within the ages of 7 and 15 were in the Koranic class, but only six were seriously injured.
The police authorities have however assured of security and that efforts are being intensified to fish out the perpetrators while the residents were urged to remain calm.

Former Singer, Alex O Speaks On His Love Affair With Oby Edozien

0
The recent marriage between Nollywood star actress Oby Edozien and former Nigerian pop icon, Alex Okoroigwe a.k.a Alex O may have come as a surprise to many people.  But unknown to them, its a  relationship that has lasted for so many years.
In fact the marriage which was consummated at a local registry in Lagos, was indeed the high point of a relationship that started in London several years ago.
Revealing this in a telephone chat with HVP,  Alex O, a star artiste whose music ruled the airwaves in the early 90s said, “I met my wife in London some years back. I saw her at an event and immediately fell in love with her. We have been dating secretly since then.”
According to the singer, what turned out to become a court marriage was supposed to be an introduction for the couple.

He said he flew into the country on the same day  and walked straight to the registry for the marriage.
Narrating his experience, Alex O said “the court marriage was not supposed to be a public thing, because the big wedding is underway. In fact, all my friends were disappointed with me that I did not inform them about the marriage. I was surprised myself because when I got to the registry, I saw a huge crowd of celebrities who thronged the venue. I didn’t believe my eyes.”

The ex-singer however ruled out any plan to embark on a trip to observe their honeymoon. He said, “for now, I will be supervising a lot of my businesses, in New York, Singapore, Nigeria and other parts of Africa. There will be no time for honeymoon for now.
But I will be traveling alongside my wife.” said Alex O whose ex-wife Fathima, a South African lady of Asian ethnicity recently surfaced to lay claim to him, as the father of her only daughter.

I have moved from being a nobody to being somebody – Roy, 1st Runner-Up Of MTN Project Fame

0
Roy Egekwu is the first runner up in the just concluded MTN Project Fame season 4 competition. He is a graduate of University of Benin, popularly known as UNIBEN. He studied Education Economics  and Statistics and graduated in 2007. Before the competition, he worked at Mega plaza in a Communication Company called Moon Walker at the Lagos Island as a Customer Service official.

In this interview with FLORENCE AMAGIYA, Roy talks about his experience in Project Fame season 4 and his life today and his rise to fame.
Excerpts

Well, I didn’t feel bad  losing the big prize to Monica although we all went there to win. Monica is a fantastic singer. She is a wonderful person and singer and l respect her a lot.
Project Fame season 4 had the best singers in the history of MTN Project Fame. Actually, everybody on that team was fantastic and I think it was very hard for the judges and the voters to even pick the winners. I give it to Monica because she deserves it.
People screaming my name on the streets
Let me be honest, it is a new experience no doubt and it has a positive and negative impact on me. The fact remains that I feel appreciated by these people for who I am, for being myself. There is a positive angle to it, which is the fact that l am known and I have fame.
It is a good thing because God would use it to open new doors. But it is also a burden because I am forced to be the best I can be because everybody is watching me and I am forced to sustain it. I do not wish to fail the people that believe in me. It feels like there’s a search light on me and it is scary because everybody wants you to be different.

My supporters
When I came back after the competition, I learnt about what my family did. My neighbours and friends, even well wishers supported me. My father was always there to watch me sing.
My family went to church,  market places, Orientation camps, the road sides and any where they possible could go to and people I didn’t  even know came out in mass to welcome me home. I felt overwhelmed. Yes! Someone out there believed in me and voted for me. I like to use this opportunity to say thank you.

Being the last man standing
To be honest, it actually affected me negatively because I felt l was representing men in general and I needed to prove a point to the women. I didn’t enjoy myself while doing that, no wonder I lost at a time and I faced probation.
The pressure was too tight; there was practically no air for me to take in. When I went on probation for the song l did, I knew l had to forget about being the only man among women and to forget about proving to the women that I am the man because it didn’t help me. I learnt to be myself again. I learnt to enjoy the music, to enjoy my performance like l was doing before.

Coping with the women
I did not have a preference, which means  l took all of them as my sisters. None was more special than the other to me. I think it saved me a lot of stress and pressure.

The African Child
I wrote that song because I believe in the African child. I am going back to the studio no doubt to finish it; it is part of my album song. The African child has a voice that needs to be heard and I am one of these children. I will be speaking on behalf of the African child as I sing my songs in future.

My background
I am an Ibo guy from Abia state, but l was born in Lagos.
I am a graduate; I finished from the University of Benin, UNIBEN. I studied Education Economics and Statistics. I left school in 2007.

Life before Project Fame season4?
I was working at Mega Plaza in Lagos Island in a company called Moon Walker, Moon Walker is a communication firm and l was their customer service official.

My likes and dislikes
I love good food, probably intercontinental or even local delicacies. I am a good dresser, someone you cannot catch shabbily dressed.
I went to a good primary school and like l said, l wasn’t born in my home town. I was born in Lagos.
I speak a little Yoruba because we do not have an all Yoruba team in my neighbourhood. We have different ethnic groups. So we speak Pidgin English, the Igbo language and any other language one can pick up as we were growing up.

My kind of songs
My style of music is versatile. I do not want to have a fixed pattern. I think when you have a fixed pattern, it boxes you up and l hate being boxed up. I want to do R&B today and do a contemporary tomorrow or  blues the next day just as Tuface is doing.
He doesn’t have a particular style of singing, but he is one of our best.  Singing one genre of music puts you in a box and l don’t want to be boxed up. It makes singing and writing songs boring. I believe my fans should be surprised at whatever l give to them. They should expect the un-expectable from me.

My dad and I
Well, I have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and I was also brought up from a very good Christian home. My parents are fantastic people and l was affected by their lifestyle even while growing up. It is a surprise that l am just like them. Jesus is awesome in my life and l will show it even through my music.

Sing gospel songs?
No, my songs would be about love in a genuine way.  Love, because love is God and God is love. I am not talking about love in the sense of being naked and all that or having half nude women in my videos. It is going to be about the genuine love from a lover to his loved one and vise versa.
It is going to be how love is supposed to be expressed.  You can only give it when you have it and if I have Christ the author of love in my life, I should by God’s grace be able to express HIS genuine love for people in my songs and music.

Growing up
I grew up in a normal environment and normal home except that my parents are Christians and it rubbed off on me as you can see. My music would be a music for the society, for the church, for the youths and even for the children. I want a child to tell the parents that he wishes to be like me when he grows up.
Music is a major influence on our children and the right music counts. If all that we sing is affecting these children positively, then we wouldn’t have to worry about the next generation because the generation is built today. A child grows up by the amount of nutritious food that he is given to take in. So my music would be in that line of grooming tomorrow’s people today.

Project Fame and the youths
I think it gives the youths a sense of belonging, a sense of trying to be what they have always dreamed of becoming. It gives the youths the platform to be seen and heard by the right persons and crowd.
It gives the youth the push he needs because some of us go into these reality shows/ competitions without good names, without being known and without having a thought of where the next meal is coming from and all of a sudden ,you are discovered and you are somebody.
I came out of the competition and met someone who told me l challenged him. If l was already feeling bad of not coming out the first, that alone would have healed me. It sure made my day.

My Best Yet To Come....Project Fame Season 4 Winner, Monica Ogah

8
The winner of MTN sponsored music competition, Project Fame, Monica Ogah, speaks about her exploits in the competition and future plans with, Abimbola Obatayo.

Monica

How do you feel emerging the winner of the Project Fame Season 4?
I feel great, I still can’t believe it. May be when I see the car and the money. I feel honoured and I am happy.

What happened after you were announced as the winner?
I felt I was not on stage, I went blank because I couldn’t believe it. I was in another world.

As a millionaire how do you feel?
Right now, I don’t know how it feels to be a millionaire because I’ve not gotten the feel of the money
.
When you came into the house did you have the feeling that a lady will emerge winner?
I think I did because we had more ladies in the house and I think after four weeks, the ladies made more impact than the guys and about three guys had gone and I think they were like seven ladies were there. So, I had that feeling that a lady will win.

Were you very popular?
I didn’t know really because anytime we went out, we had people hailing us but no one hailed me personally. So I said to myself that I’m on my own here but I didn’t know I had so much impact on people until this happened.

Did you really feel at home during the competition?
Well, I felt at that time that they were just being there as the audience. They were just there for everybody. At a point I felt at home but at the beginning of the competition I wasn’t feeling at home at all because I felt I came from Benue State, nobody knew me. I looked at the audience and I couldn’t even picture any person I knew. So I didn’t really feel at home. But mid way into the competition I began to enjoy it because they knew this person had something to offer.

Were you good all through?
No, I was not good all through and the truth is, I told myself that I had not done well in the competition. I didn’t sing in the competition even till now. I just felt that God was just there for me. There were times I thought I was going on probation but I didn’t go and I’m like ‘God it’s you’ but the normal me, I knew I could do better than what I did on Project Fame stage because I was scared all through.

What really motivated you to want to sing more?
God, secondly when I saw my fellow contestants do their thing, singing their songs, it really triggered me to want to do more. I’m promising Project Fame that I will do better than what I did on their stage and it’s not as if I didn’t really sing, I sang but I think I can do better. So, motivations actually came from my fellow contestants and God and from the fact that it was a competition.

Were you scared of the first runners-up?
I was not scared of the first runners-up. I wasn’t actually scared of anybody. He was actually very popular but I was not scared of anything that came my way. I believe in myself, I believe in what I carry inside of me and I believe whatever I venture into comes out well.

When the results were being announced, what was on your mind?
I was calm. I prayed before I came. I said: ‘God if you don’t want me to win this competition, give me first runners-up’. So when they were calling first runners-up, I said that was my position; why were they giving my position to someone else. But I resigned myself to fate that whatever happens, I thank God for coming this far.

Who were you attracted to in the house?
Well I can’t really name anybody because I was everywhere. I talked to everybody.

Was there any romance in the house?
Nothing like that happened.

What about others?
For me I did not notice such thing I just mind my business.

How soon are we expecting something from you?
I’m not going to tell you a date but I just want to say expect something big from me. I want to take you by surprise.

What was your growing up like?
I grew up singing, my mum is a choir director. I grew up singing in a church I grew up in music, it actually runs in my family. So, I can’t really say when. I started singing when I was a kid.

Tell us your educational background?
I was in school of nursing before the competition. I am in the first year so I had to forfeit it to be here.

So what’s next?
School, research on music, rehearsals and music all through.

Can you describe yourself?
I am always myself wherever I go, I don’t pretend. Take me for who I am.

Another Fight Brewing Between Nollywood Actresses, Mercy Johnson And Collette Orji?

4
Fresh gist pouring in from an eye witness, says there might be another big war to break out in the movie industry between Mercy Johnson and another colleague of hers, Collette Orji.

The two beautiful actresses, who are suppose to be friends and have both worked together on some movie projects, which include Strength Of A Woman,  Diary Of A Player, and others, are now enemies of each other.
Trouble started when Chika Ike was getting too close to Collette, who is also an Abuja based actress as Chika Ike. This development, we learnt, did not go down well with Mercy Johnson, who believed Chika Ike should not be associated with non A-list actors in Nollywood.

As we were told, Mercy confronted Chika Ike about this, but Chika didn’t heed to the advice by Mercy Johnson not to associate herself with Collette.

According to the source who confidently divulged this information to us, this step by Chika not to let go of Collette has a bit strained the relationship between Mercy Johnson and Chika Ike.

The source which witnessed, Mercy Johnson and Collette were on a movie set this month in Festac, Lagos, but trouble almost broke out when Mercy Johnson told Collette to stand up from a sit she was sitting on.

“We thought both of them would fight each other when Mercy Johnson told Collette to stand up, but Collette didn’t say a word to her. We had smelt trouble when Mercy Johnson did that act, but Collette showed maturity on her side,” the source told said.

The source further said that, “another funny incident was a scene that is yet to be shot, where Mercy’s Jeep was used as prop in the movie, and you know what? That was the car that Collette and Frank Artus and Maureen Solomon would be in for the scene.

“But when Mercy Johnson learnt that Collette would be in her car for that scene shot, she drove her jeep away from the location and gave an excuse of having an urgent call to attend to outside the location. We all know that she does not want Collette enter her car.”

We also learnt from our source that the scene is yet to be shot by now..

So How In This World Can Men Pay Money To Watch This So-Called 'Model'?

5
Oh my God!

Her fans wanted her to become as large as possible and she quickly became a star in a bizarre fantasy fetish community that worshiped the overweight and bought pizzas for her to munch on.
Ms Simpson had a website where men paid $19 a month to watch her eat and she flew around the world for events. She became the most popular model on SupersizedBombshells.com.
All over: Before her five-year relationship with fiancé Philippe Gouamba, 49, ended.
But life is changing for Donna Simpson. The 600lb mother-of-two is separated from her five-year relationship with fiancé Philippe Gouamba, 49.
The 5’4" woman has also turned away from the fantasy world, replacing videos of her eating with a blog about her journey to health. Ms Simpson has already lost 85lbs on her long road to weight loss.

Russell Brand Files For Divorce From Katy Perry, After 14 Months Of Marriage

1
Russell Brand has filed for divorce from Katy Perry .
In the docs, filed in L.A., Brand cites "irreconcilable differences." The two were married Oct. 23, 2010 in India.  They have no kids.

The divorce docs say there are "community property assets" -- it's a sign there might not be a prenup, or if there is one it doesn't cover all of the earnings and other assets they accumulated.

The docs do not give a date the couple separated.

Russell has released a statement, claiming, "Sadly, Katy and I are ending our marriage. I'll always adore her and I know we'll remain friends."

Russell proposed to Katy in India on New Year's Eve 2009 -- nearly two years ago ... to the day.

Sources had told TMZ the couple was having problems, evidenced by the fact that they spent Christmas apart and neither was wearing a wedding ring.

Although it's not 100%, based on what we now know it appears Brand may have blindsided Perry by filing the divorce petition.

Russell appeared on "Ellen" just this month, slamming divorce rumors -- claiming, "I'm really happily married ... I’m married to Katy. Perpetually, until death do us part was the pledge. I’m still alive."

Nigeria's Boko Haram Blamed For Maiduguri Mosque Blast

1
A blast has rocked an area near a mosque in the restive north-eastern Nigerian city of Maiduguri, with witnesses reporting four deaths.
In a BBC interview, Nigerian army spokesman Brig Gen Isa blamed the Islamist group Boko Haram.
The group - which wants strict sharia law - has carried out scores of attacks, mainly in the north-east.
It has said it attacked several churches on Christmas Day, killing at least 42 people.

Boko Haram has also in the past targeted international organisations and Muslim leaders from rival sects.
"There was a loud blast near the mosque just after the Friday prayers as people were trooping out of the mosque," one Maiduguri resident was quoted by the AFP news agency as saying.
"Everybody scampered to safety, leading to a stampede."
Another witness said he had seen four bodies.

Brig Gen Isa said there had been a "major incident" which had caused casualties but did not give any further details.
Tens of thousands of people have fled their homes in Maiduguri and other cities which have been attacked by Boko Haram, especially in nearby Yobe state.
Earlier this week, Nigeria's main Christian group warned that the community may have to defend itself if the security forces could not protect it.
Analysts said the move raised the spectre of communal clashes in Africa's most populous nation, which is divided between a largely Muslim north and a mainly Christian and animist south.
On Thursday, Nigeria's President Goodluck Jonathan summoned his security chiefs to discuss the Boko Haram threat.
The leaders of Chad and Cameroon, which are close to Maiduguri, are reported to have held talks about how they can help prevent the violence spreading across their borders.
The group, which originated in Maiduguri, this year staged suicide attacks on the headquarters of the UN and the national police in the capital, Abuja.
It was also responsible for a string of bomb blasts in the central city of Jos on Christmas Eve 2010, as well as a New Year's Eve attack on a military barracks in the capital.

BEAUTY THURSDAY::: How To Even Out Your Skin Tone

6
In this festive season, despite the dryness and dustiness that has aaccompained the  harmattan  season, the key to a flawless face still remains an even skin tone. Even the most beautiful women in the world need a bit of help now and the.
Getting your skin tone right, according to McEvoy, is more important than any other part of your makeup routine. The trick is make it appear as if you aren't wearing any makeup at all. Here are a few steps to even-ing out your skin tone.

Rule #1: Exfoliate

Chances are if you don't exfoliate daily or weekly, your skin is covered in dead skin cells that are mucking up the surface of your skin and causing your skin to not only look dull, but older as well. Without proper exfoliation, foundation won't smooth over your skin cleanly and moisturizer won't properly soak in. Exfoliate with face scrubs, microdermabrasion, chemical peels, beta alpha hydroxy pads or any Vitamin A product like Retin-A.

Rule #2: Prep the Face

Foundations and tinted moisturizers glide over a moisturized, plumped face so much better than a dry one. Plump up skin with a primer with SPF.  If you don't have a primer, moisturizers with SPF will do. Make sure the SPF is at least 15.

Rule #3: Even Out Skin Tone

The next step is to apply foundation or tinted moisturizer (tinted moisturizer tends to be more sheer). Make sure the foundation or TM blends perfectly into skin. If it's too light or too dark it will be noticeable. Apply only on the areas that need it most: Usually along the nose and on the cheeks and chin.

Rule #4: Cover Up Under-Eye Circles, Blemishes and Red Spots

A few dots of a creamy concealer under the eyes and on any blemishes helps remove the "veiny" or "bluish" appearance under the eyes many women have. Remember to pat, don't rub, concealer in.

Rule #5: Prep the Lids

Even if you aren't going to be applying eyeshadow, you'll want to apply a lid base to lids to even out skin there. Most people's lids have blue veins. Concealing them with a base or primer created for the lids helps even out your overall skin tone.

Rule #6: Bring Back Some Color

Once skin tone is evened out, you'll notice your skin lacks color. Bring it back in with bronzer, a creamy blush or both. Apply bronzing powder with a big fluffy brush on all the spots the sun naturally hits: Forehead, cheeks and nose. Follow with a creamy blush on the apple of your cheeks. (Cream blushes create a "dewy" complexion better than powder blushes, and help plump up skin).

Rule #7: Set the Face

Your last step to a perfect complexion is setting the face with a powder. This is a step I often avoid because I love how dewy my complexion is without powder. Plus, at this point, I'm lazy. But many makeup artists insist on this step. Now that your face is "on" you'll notice you don't even have to apply much eye makeup to look fresh and spectacular. Even just a bit of mascara and a hint of gloss is enough for most women to look fantastic.

7 Strange Things Men Are So Good At

8
There are some things that men can do and women can't. There are many other things that women can do and men can't.

Like giving birth for instance. But, aside that, here's a compilation of seven things that men are so perfect at, that they can be really annoying. Enjoy!

1. Sexy morning voices: This one is definitely tops the list. Men have such seductive baritones when they wake up in the morning, while we women end up croaking like frogs. Although we are quite sure that the sexy 'morning voice' is directly proportional to the sexiness quotient of their normal voices, unofficial research has shown that men with reasonable voices end up with super sexy morning voices as well. Sigh.

2. Ability to give comforting hugs: There's no denying it. Embracing a man is like hugging a life size teddy bear. Only warmer. And human. Not only does everything feel like it will be OK, the world seems so much safer in that embrace. Know what's even better? The hug comes with a surplus - don't you just love the way they smell your hair?

3. Their uncanny knack of pissing you off and making you feel good at the same time: Alright, moving on. Only a man can achieve that impossible task of pissing you off and making you feel great at the same time. A classic example would be when a man watching a woman give birth says, "Does it really hurt that bad?" and then looks at your annoyed expression and immediately chirps, "But, I am sure you'll be brave honey." Well, at least he's thinking about having kids with you right?

4. Saying something completely inappropriate and still is charming : This one is a classic. And no, we're not talking about the cheesy pick up lines that go something along the lines of "do you believe in love at first sight or should I walk by again." We're referring to the smooth talkers here.

5. Ability to eat like a pig and not feel guilty about it: Ever seen a teenage boy wolf down an entire pack of cookies by himself? Or a fully grown man helping himself onto a fourth wrap of fufu? Heck, have you ever heard a man say he's "full"? Maybe they are blessed with excellent metabolism or maybe they are just built that way, they can eat gigantic quantities of food, and still work it off. We envy you for not having to worry about cellulite on your hips and thighs.

6. Their ability to fix things: We're not just talking about your feelings here ladies, we're referring to everything from light bulbs and fuse wires  to your personal computer and your mobile phone. Can you imagine what would have happened if you had to fix everything mechanical and electrical or even logical all by yourself?

7. Gods of gaming: This one is again a given. They can beat women hands down in most video-games (unless we're talking about something that involves eye pencil, lipstick.....lol). In the words of one very wise man, "Men can destroy women at video games. Destroy!" Though i still want to believe that what a man can do,a woman can do much better.......over and out.

S-H-O-C-K-I-N-G: 34-Year-Old Man Butchers Mother And Dumps Dismembered Body Into Well

0
Both luck and the popular Yoruba saying that, 'train your child to give you rest of mind' worked against Mrs. Martina Usha, a 57-year- old resident of Maraban Rido, a suburb of Kaduna, as her son she laboured so hard to give the best of education butchered her like a cow and dumped her dismembered body in a well.

Although the incident occurred mid last month, but skeletal details were at the disposal of Crimewatch until recently, when our reporter succeeded in speaking with the 34 years old suspect, Emmanuel Usha, at the Kaduna Police Command Headquarters.
Crimewatch gathered that Martina was the first wife of Engineer Godwin Usha and a mother of three children. Her first child, a girl, was said to have died at the age of 15, leaving the woman with two boys, Emmanuel and his younger brother.

A source close to the Usha family disclosed how the suspect had been passionate about blood or had been using blood for something which is not yet known to people. According to him, Emmanuel had always loved draining blood from animals, right from his Secondary School days."Emmanuel had at one time, killed a dog in their compound, drained its blood and kept it in his room for use which is best known to only him. He did the same thing to a cat which was even very friendly with both the young and old in the compound," he recalled.

Though, the suspect had allegedly had series of quarrels with his late mother and even hit her with shovel, no one, including his parents suspected he could butcher his biological mother in such a dastardly manner. The recent problems which resulted in the death of Mrs. Martina, was said to have begun, after she relocated from Ungwan Television, where she lived with her husband, to her apartment in Sabo Tasha. Crimewatch gathered that it was at Sabon Tasha that Emmanuel made the first attempt to murder her. That was the time he allegedly used shovel to hit her on the hand.

He was later handed over to the police, after parts of his late Martina's body were recovered from the well by some experts.

Though, Engineer Usha did not want to speak to the press, he, however, confided in a journalist who is very close to the family that his son, "had given very conflicting statements at the police station, which pointed to the fact that he killed his mother.”
He said further: “At the moment, the dismembered parts of my wife have been stitched together at Barao Dikko Specialist Hospital and we will be taking the corpse to rest in the village."
Meanwhile, after several fruitless moves by the reporter, to have access to the suspect who has since the incident, been in the police net, he was eventually paraded before newsmen last Friday.
Below is the excerpt of the reporter’s interaction with the alleged mum killer:

Why are you here?
I was framed up, I went home and discovered my mother in the well and I couldn’t escape.

Who framed you up?
People who didn’t want me to believe I was a graduate from the military school. I graduated from Arizona Academy Air Force in 2010. I am presently teaching in my mother’s school.

There is an allegation that you killed your mother, what can you say about that?
I didn’t kill my mother, those who didn’t want me to believe I graduated from the military school killed her. Some of them are our neighbours, some of them even stole my uniform and the rifle I got from the academy in the country. They didn’t want me to achieve anything in this country. I know some of these people but not all of them.

What time of the day was your mother killed?
It was sometimes in the evening. I was at home earlier, before I went out to smoke. When I came back, the deed had already been done.

When you came back from where you went to, what did you see in the house?
There was nothing unusual in the house; there was also nothing to show that somebody attacked her. After my mum disappeared from the house, I went to my father’s house that night. When I was coming back, there were people around the house, waiting for me to come and open the gate, they started searching and discovered the body in the well.

You were alleged to be mopping the floor of your room the same day, what were you trying to cover up?
I was mopping oil stain. My shoes stepped on engine oil, when I was entering the house to take key to fill the generator with fuel.

What was the relationship between you and your mother like, before her death. We learnt you usually fought with her?
My mother was the one who brought me to Maraban Rido after I could not discover my house. I forgot and these people were taking my things away so, I couldn’t remember that I was having a house like that. She was the one, who brought me into the house and organized my school for me. She was the one, who was paying my school fees. I was staying with my father in Ugwan Television before, but I wasn’t doing anything because the school I finished in Nigeria, I didn’t make it, I finished Mossi Gabriel, I finished New Breed, Labayi, I even took some exams but all, I didn’t make any of the papers. I also schooled abroad at Arizona Academy, Air Force and that was the one my mother was carrying forth for me but she wasn’t telling me anything.

We learnt that you were always quarreling with your mother, how true is this allegation?
I don’t fight her always but on one occasion, I used shovel to injure her and it was because I was instructed to go to the house to collect my phone from her and she didn’t want to give it to me. And she was not paying attention to my transportation money to go back home, so I had to trek home that night, so I was annoyed and I attacked her that night. That time, I was not living with her, I was living with my father in Television, while she was living in Sabo at that time.

Who are you suspecting to have killed your mother?
I suspect our neighbour, where she used to keep the things she took away from me before I woke up.

What are those things?
My uniform, my rifle, I have a rifle that I was given in the country when I finished. My identity card was an international number, I was supposed to separate it into two, I gave the national ID card. Whenever they give it to me, I’m supposed to wake up the following day, after the injection my head swagger.

So, what were you doing with gun?
Yes, I have a gun, it was given to me in the country, because I attended an Air Force Academy. When you are a scholar with them, they give you a rifle for protection. They signed it for me and I was supposed to finish with my commission.

What about your mother’s handset which you were alleged to have taken?
She travelled and came back that morning, we didn’t have time to talk, so, I came back in the evening from school. She asked me about the handset I sold, I denied taking the handset. Later, she discovered that the second handset was missing. She was very annoyed that she didn’t realize that she was not having the communication system in the house. So, while she was barking at me, I went to the room and she went out. That was the last time I saw my mother alive.

The police recovered a very sharp knife from your room, what were you doing with it and the shovel found under your mattress?
It is the knife I used in peeling oranges when my mother buys for me. The shovel is my rifle I was using in Arizona Academy, it was a gun but they changed it to shovel for safety.

Do you smoke and what do you smoke?
Yes, I smoke cannabis and cigarette.

Have you ever been taken for any rehabilitation in the past?
Several times, my mother took me for rehabilitation. I don’t drink, when I drink, I vomit and I fall very sick so my mother was concerned. She told my father about it and they went to complain to NDLEA about it. They took me there for rehabilitation, since then, I don’t drink alcohol again. I only smoke.

What led you into drugs?
In the school, it was a project that I should continue smoking, because it is something I used when I am on patrol, so that I will not be bored. We were trained that way in school to smoke. When my mother gave me my ID card, I realized that it was true, I was an army, the clothes given were that of army but my eyes could not see the colour actually. I don’t see green because they didn’t give me my glass to see.

How do you feel about your mother’s death?
I feel very bad because people believe that I killed my mother. I am actually the one in need of my mother, because she promised to give me all the things she seized from me before going to stay with my brother in Sabo.

Nollywood Actress, Eucharia Anunobi To Be Officially Ordained Pastor Easter

4
This woman once referred to as an action woman or iron lady, her present life style would come as a miracle.
The reason for her total change of lifestyle is still a mystery to some of her close associates. To them, UK, as those close to her call her, God must have specially and divinely touched her.

Some have even insinuated that her child, Raymond’s sickle cell anemia condition might have made her draw close to God, while others standing in her defense believe that people initially got her acting personality mixed with her real person as Eucharia Anunobi.

It was news when it was first reported that this once dressing-to-kill acting goddess of the Glamour Girls fame, where nudity in films almost first started in Nollywood, has become a born again Christian.

The story did not stop at that, she was also said to have become an Evangelist in the vineyard of God. What was remaining for her to do then was following the steps of some others before her in the ministry by having her own church.

The latest step of the estranged wife of Charles Ukwu in serving her heavenly father as a born again Christian and an Evangelist.

According to information available to us, Eucharia was anointed by some pastors on Sunday December 18, 2011 at Fresh Oil Ministry, Egbeda, Lagos. She was laid hands on to officially join the soul winning business of God.

According to exclusive information available to us, plans have already been concluded by the pastors to officially ordain the former bad girl of Nollywood as a pastor in the vineyard of God.

Eucharia has started her work as an evangelist, as she has already been mounting the pulpit to teach the church congregation.
As we learnt, her ordination into pastor-hood would come up during Easter in 2012. We wish Eucharia Anunobi success in her new status.

Islamic School Bombed In Sapele: Egbesu Fraternity Claim Responsibility

0
A Niger Delta militant group, the Egbesu Mightier Fraternity, has claimed responsibility for the explosion in an Arabic and Quaranic school in Sapele, Delta State, which injured seven people yesterday.
The Ijaw militant group, which threatened more explosions, said in a statement that the incident was a reaction to continued Boko Haram killings in the North, climaxed last Sunday with the death of 50 worshippers in a Catholic church in Madalla, Niger State.
The statement, which indicated it was jointly signed by the group’s 'Revolutionary Council,’ said, ‘The Boko Haram killing will no longer be accepted and we are ready to equally kill any Muslim we see in southern Nigeria.
We gave this warning since October this year that if Boko Haram will not stop killing any southerner, we will also kill until they (Boko Haram) feel uncomfortable before we will stop killing; because no part of this country is constitutionally empowered to kill any Nigerian.’
The group affirmed that, ‘The Sapele killing in Delta State yesterday night was carried out by us (Egbesu Mightier Fraternity); even the ones of Warri and Sapele on the 8th and 10th respectively was carried out by us.
We will continue to kill until the number of souls been terminated by Boko Haram is completed before we will cease fire.

‘We have warned time without number that they should leave the southern states immediately.

We will not regret any soul that will go (for this) on the part of any Muslim in the south.’

They warned that ‘any southerner that speaks evil against us will be violently visited by us, because they too are in support of the killing of southerner by Boko Haram,’ adding, ‘This is our message.’
The explosion, which occurred barely two weeks after another one in Sapele Central Mosque in the state, happened at an Arabic and Quaranic school, only 100 meters away from the scene of the previous incident.
At a press briefing yesterday in Asaba, the state’s Police Commissioner, Mr. Mamma Ibrahim Tsafe, who confirmed the incident, said the explosion was a high-powered object suspected to be a bomb.
The police commissioner, who said security agents were on top of the incident, disclosed that six persons have been arrested and undergoing investigation.
While he regretted the growing insecurity in the country, the police boss pleaded with Deltans to go about their business as the security agents would do everything possible to protect the lives and property in the state.
He warned against use of fireworks by the youths in the state as the police would ensure the arrest of those found involved.
‘It is unfortunate that most fireworks have injured human beings and homes, and this is against the law; anybody found will face the law,’ he said.
However, the state police spokesman, Charles Mouka, who spoke to Reuters, said: ‘It was thrown from an unidentified moving car … Six children and one adult were wounded.
They are receiving treatment in the hospital. No deaths were recorded and no arrests have been made.’
The children are between five and eight years old, he said. They were in the school for night Arabic and Koranic lessons, said Mouka.
According to him, the area around the school, which has about 50 students, has been cordoned off.
‘We have swept it clean and recovered unexploded bits of the explosives for investigation.
We are collaborating with other security agencies to ensure we do not have a repeat of the incident.’
Eyewitness, however, said the explosion, which occurred at about 9.00/9:30p.m yesterday, was initially mistaken for Christmas fireworks, but when residents realised its intensity, they scampered from the scene in fear.
A visit to the scene showed bloodstains of victim-children on the ground, who were said to have been taken to the Sapele Central Hospital for treatment.
A parent of one of the victims, Zenaib Murtala, said the incident was shocking, adding that the explosion was unprecedented.
She stated that it also portended a dangerous development for the country.
Investigation also revealed that Muslim scholars in the community have been apprehensive with litany of reported bomb cases in the place, which has made them to adjust their prayer patterns.
Residents of the Niger Delta, especially Warri, Sapele and Ughelli, have reportedly become hedgy over fears of bomb explosions.
