Gaddafi’s Hideout Discovered... Son, Saadi, loyalists ready to surrender.

0

ONE of the sons of Libya deposed dictator, Saadi Gaddafi, is set to surrender to rebels in Libya, a report has indicated.

A senior National Transitional Council (NTC) official in Libya, Abdelhakim Belhaj, said Saadi called him on phone and asked if he could surrender, Al Jazeera reported.
The football-freaked son of Gaddafi, Saadi, was banned from playing in Italy, after testing positive for the anabolic steroid nandrolone.

According to the report monitored on the pan-Arab news network, Al Jazeera reported that Saadi, in the exclusive interview with Belhaj, confessed to knowing where some of his fathers loyalists in government were, including Gaddafi himself.

Belhaj also said from the phone call, he believed he knew the whereabouts of Saadi, adding that he also believed that some senior figures of the government, such as the former prime minister, were now ready to surrender.

"Gaddafi is now fleeing and we have a good idea of where he is. We don't have any doubt that we will catch him," another senior NTC minister told Al Jazeera.
Before now, there had been speculation that Gaddafi was seeking refuge in Sirte, or one of his other stronghold towns of Bani Walid or Sabha.

Al Jazeera's corres-pondent in Tripoli, who spoke with Belhaj said: "We asked him (Belhaj) about the military situ-ation, remaining members of the Gaddafi family, and he said that he believes one of Gaddafi's sons, Saadi, is preparing to surrender."

According to Belhaj, Saadi doesn't want to leave Libya, but wants to talk to the national council and negotiate his surrender.

The International Criminal Court (ICC), Hague, The Netherland, has already approved warrants for the arrest of Gaddafi, his son Seif al-Islam, and Libyan intelligence chief, Abdu-llah al-Senussi, on charges of crimes against humanity.

The ICC prosecutor, Luis Moreno-Ocampo, said he might also apply for an arrest warrant for Khamis, who unconfirmed reports indicated had been killed by NATO forces

Asiwaju Bola Tinubu Battles Ill Health?

1

...as loyalists rally round to keep empire intact?

If true, this is not a too pleasing news filtering in from deep inside the camp of political heavy weight, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The Jargaban, Borgu is said to be battling ill health at present.

Sources divulged that specific nature of the ailment ravaging is system is being kept heavily guarded- his very close confidants are attributing it to stress induced to those curious enough to enquire.

Investigations revealed that the situation is being quietly and efficiently managed.

Information made available to us revealed that the former governor and leader of opposition in national politics has been battling this phenomenon on and off for a while.

The most recent bout he was afflicted with is tagged 'towards the end' of the recently concluded Islamic faithful fasting period, Ramadan.

His strong supporters tagged the development a conspiracy between the fasting he undertook and the stress of overseeing his political and business Empires.

Findings revealed that in order to safe guard the sanity he has brought to chaotic settings in and out of politics, particularly in Lagos state- his key loyalist are striving hard to keep the situation as quiet as possible. They are said to be rallying round to ensure his orders and wishes are carried out most efficiently, securing perfect control that will withstand rumor of a lapse in health of a power broker if it eventually gets out.

Further investigations revealed that the former Senator credited with putting his men and political party- Action Congress of Nigeria- in charge of government of Osun, Ogun, Oyo, Edo and Lagos states is said to be out of the country as at Wednesday, August 31 2011.

He is believed to have gone for quick medication in the midst of visits to Saudi Arabia and Dubai.

It is instructive to note that with an influence that span virtually all spheres of life, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu with a labyrinth of contacts as his power base has attained a height, in and out of politics, many dreamt and passionately prayed for.

As normal with his acolytes when probes into issues they deem not too good about their principal are made- they denied talks of ill health affecting the notable politician and business mogul.

Reasons Why Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation Banned Dbanj’s Oliver Twist Song!

2

So sad for D'banj's fans because his new song - Oliver Twist which has gone viral since it hit the media and internet portals has been banned by the Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC).
The song had gained enormous publicity largely as a result of the Oliver Twist competition organised by D'banj and Don Jazzy. People were asked send video and also invite folk to record personal videos of themselves dancing to the Oliver Twist via olivermohitsrecords.com. While thousands of bucks will be paid to the best video.

Don Jazzy said, "The winning video would be chosen based on entertainment value and creativity," adding that there will be five winners with cash prizes of $2, 500, $2, 000, $1, 500, $1, 000, and $500 respectively.

The Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation banned the song because it contains what the NBC has termed to be lewd lyrics, in the lyrics of the song, Dbanj supposedly eulogises Omotola Jaleide's buttocks part of the song goes, "I like Omotola, (because) her y*ansh is bigger." The NBC was reported to have thus issued a circular to all radio and television stations to stop playing the song.

However, our findings reveal that the lyrics of the song which have been publicized do not contain the line "I like Omotola, (because) her y*ansh is bigger." as quoted rather the lyrics of the Oliver Twist song says "I like Omo-tola, cause people like her". Except there is a different version of the song, the lyrics are being misquoted. The song however does say "I like Nicki (probably Nicki Minaj), her Nash is bigger".

Reacting to the alleged NBC ban on D'banj's latest song "Oliver", Mo'Hits C.E.O, Don Jazzy downplayed the censor saying that "they only banned it because they have the power to do so". Popular rapper Ruggedman was first to spread the news via Twitter saying: "NBC strikes again. 1st @IAM2SHOTZ Supermandead is banned. Now its @iamdbanj Oliver Twist. Na wah o cc @DONJAZZY', @Ruggedybaba tweeted. The rapper further disclosed that he got the information on the ban from radio station Cool FM Abuja.

"The truth is that the person that banned this song will hear this song till he is sick of it. He will hear it at almost every party he goes to. He will hear it from the cars that will drive pass him.

He will hum the melody even in his sleep. He'll probably record his own version of the Oliver video sef lol. He is doing his job so let's allow him exercise his power. It's allowed. May God bless him and his hustle? No long thing". Ruggedman continued.

Recently, the NBC banned 2Shortz's single 'supermandead' because of the use of the word 'alomo".

The MO'hits President has reacted to the development via twitter saying

"Please, worry not about the banning of Oliver o, e dey happen. We are kinda used to it now. Ijebu garri no dey do advert but e dey sell."

Excerpts of the lyrics of Oliver Twist below:-

I have a confession
Don't take it personal
I have a confession
So You gotta listen  X2

See I like Beyonce, But she day with Jigga
I like Nicki, her Nash is bigger
I like Rihanna, she day make me take okada
I like Omo-tola, cause people like her
I like Genevieve, I told her she's so sweet
And now I put my ring, But she no dey take garri.
It's not about what you know, you cannot pay me doh
I wanna like them all,
I know is wrong, but the truth is bitter

I am just like
(Oliver, Oliver, Oliver Twist….)  X4………..

Please if you have another version of the song please let us know here

UN House Blast: Why Has FG Refused To Inform UN Of Suspects’ Arrest?

0

The United Nations said yesterday that Nigerian Security Agencies had not officially informed the world body about the arrest of suspects in the bombing of its Abuja office last week. The United Nations Resident Coordinator in Nigeria, Mr Daouda Toure who addressed the press in Abuja said the body was committed to ensuring that those behind the dastardly act were brought to book.

The Department of State Services, Wednesday disclosed that it arrested two suspects in the Abuja bombing while one of the alleged master minds was declared wanted by the security agency.

But addressing a press conference yesterday, Mr Toure said "Officially, let me tell you the UN has not been informed about any arrest of any sort nor the identity of those that have been arrested. Therefore, you can understand that I cannot comment on that."

Giving further update on the bomb blast, the Resident Coordinator said 14 persons that were hitherto on life support following the bomb blast at various hospitals in Abuja had been evacuated to South Africa, adding that necessary measures have been put in place to facilitate the movement of family members of the injured to South Africa.

Sect reveals identity of suicide bomber

Spokesman of Boko Haram, Abul Qaqa yesterday revealed the identity of the suicide bomber who drove the vehicle that hit the UN house saying he was a 27 year-old Nigerian named Mohammed Abul Barra.

In a brief telephone interview with the CNN arranged by an intermediary, Boko Haram spokesman said

the group bombed the U.N. offices in Abuja last week because the world body was a partner "in the oppression of believers". According to him, "all over the world, the U.N. is a global partner in the oppression of believers. We are at war against infidels. In Nigeria, the federal government tries to perpetuate the agenda of the United Nations."

Though a Nigerian engineer was among the dead, Qaqa said the group did not intend to kill the man. He told CNN, however that, "We have told everyone that the U.N. is the bastion of the global oppression of Muslims all over the world. As such, we have warned everyone to steer clear of such places. They should steer clear of such places that we have mentioned in the past. The battle has changed."

Boko Haram sends 270 members for training

It was also gathered yesterday that the Islamic sect has sent 270 of its members to Yemen and Sudan for training. Security sources who have been trailing the activities of the group who revealed this added that some of the sect members who went to some African countries for training on terrorism have returned to the country. This has prompted security agencies to spread its dragnet far and wide with a view to rounding them up. Security has also been beefed up at the nation's ports

Port security source disclosed that the activities of the terrorist group has put all security agencies on the edge warning port stakeholders to be security conscious and ensure that their facilities are well secured.

Giving this warning at the 47th Port Facilities Security Officers Forum, spokesman of the forum, Mr Subaru Anataku said that these undesirable elements can go to any length to cause havoc .

Anataku said "We need to introduce a minimum screening standard, we need to let them know that it is not business as usual. The current security challenges we are currently experiencing in the country is a serious situation and we need a serious solution.

"These bombs can be concealed in the most unusual places we need to be extra careful, we need to go back to our facilities to review our procedures, clear every abandoned vehicle within and around your facilities, these terrorists always employ element of surprise.

"They just not only cause havoc, they are trained to die in the process"

He called on Port Security Officers (PSO) to commence full screening of all vehicles, trucks and persons entering any facility.

2 sect members shot

Men of "Operation Tsaro", the military outfit maintaining peace in Adamawa, yesterday in Song gunned down two motorcyclists suspected to be members of the violent Boko Haram sect.

"One of the suspects was killed instantly while the other was injured," Lt.-Col. Idachaba Idu, Public Relations Officer, 3 Armoured Division, Nigeria Army, Jos, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Jos on Thursday.

He said the suspects were armed with an AK47 rifle and two magazines loaded with 17 rounds of 7.62 calibre ammunition.

"The suspects tried to escape after firing a shot, but the soldiers from the 23 Brigade in Yola shot them down," Idu said.

Thousands of African Immigrants in Hiding in Libya For Fear Of Been Killed!

0

Thousands of sub-Saharan Africans may be too scared to leave Libya. That's according to the International Organization for Migration (IOM), which said it is "increasingly concerned over the fate of vulnerable migrants."

The IOM has been evacuating migrants from Tripoli by boat and giving them safe passage to Benghazi.

"We've noticed that in our three missions," said IOM spokesman Jumbe Omari Jumbe, "very few sub-Saharan Africans have managed to come to the port and board our vessels. So we are really concerned. And of course we have a team on the ground now. They report to us that sub-Saharan Africans, in particular, are so afraid to get out because of all the barriers and roadblocks and because of the stories that they have been targeted."

Targeted?

Since the beginning of the Libyan conflict, there have been reports and rumors that sub-Saharan Africans had been hired by Moammar Gadhafi as mercenaries.

"So they are holed up in various areas and unable to come to the port to board our vessels," Jumbe said.

As for the rumors, Jumbe said they are still circulating. "We cannot confirm or deny them. Although those migrants who reached Tunisia and other border areas, they told us stories…that they have been targeted. Some of them have been mistreated, maltreated even, particularly along the road when they were fleeing. Most of them have lost their possessions."

Guesstimates

It remains unclear just how many sub-Saharan Africans remain in Libya.

"We don't know for sure how many there are. The reason is many of those, particularly from neighboring countries – that is Niger, Mali and other countries – reached Libya in an irregular manner. I mean they have not registered. Some of them have no passport. And because of that they did not obviously go to their embassies to register themselves for fearing that (it) may be negative to them," he said.

The IOM estimates before the conflict began, there were as many as one million sub-Saharan workers in Libya.

"With all those whom we have evacuated, we are still thinking that thousands of them are still in Libya, maybe 100,000, 200,000. I can't tell. But thousands of them are still holed up in Libya.

What to do?

The IOM is negotiating with the new authority in Libya, the National Transitional Council, to gain access to the migrants.

"We know that most of them live in the suburbs of Tripoli in private farms, some of them," he said. For example, on one farm, an IOM team found about 70 migrants, many of them Nigerian.

"They told our team that there are about 450 of their friends and relatives around that area. Many of these are young men, but there are those with families," he said.

Since evacuating sub-Saharan migrants by boat has so far been unsuccessful, the IOM is also considering evacuating them by road.

"We are thinking seriously about road evacuation because that is cheaper, first, for us and also it is much safer. Because we can just go to the areas where they are, pick them up in our buses and off we go," said Jumbe.

Before fighting reached Tripoli, there had been evacuations by land.

"These were largely organized by the diplomatic missions," he said, "but not sub-Saharan African countries. So this time we want to do the evacuation, road evacuation, by ourselves, with IOM buses."

Meanwhile, the IOM has so far evacuated about 1600 people from Tripoli in three separate boat missions. But it says there's a growing sentiment among some migrants that the situation in the country is growing more stable, so they've chosen to remain in Libya.

Marc Anthony Denies Affair With 'Will Smith's Wife'... Says He’ll Always Love Jennifer Lopez'

0

Marc Anthony has opened up on his split from super-songstress Jennifer Lopez in a revealing new interview, just six weeks on from their separation.

In the news exclusive, set to air on American ABC's Nightline show tonight, the stony-faced actor told host John Quinones: 'I'll always love Jennifer,' and strenuously denying reports of an affair with Will Smith's wife Jada Pinkett Smith.

Jen and Marc announced their shock split back in July, and while both have remained decidedly quiet on the subject until now, reports suggest the break-up could have been fuelled by anything from Marc's controlling behavior and attempt to stifle Jen's sexy style to infidelity and her diva-ish behaviour.

Instead, the Latino star set the record straight, saying the pair simply fell out of love, and make the decision to separate jointly.

'I'll tell you that it wasn't something sensationalistic happening,' he revealed.

'It was a realisation on both our parts. So you know it wasn't shocking. These things happen. It was a decision that we made jointly.'

Marc was also quick to blast reports he and Jen have been at war, saying the split has been completely amicable.

'This is not a funeral. This is not a burial,' he added. 'This is just two people who came together and just realized – and so I'm saying that it wasn't sustainable the way it was, and that's that.'

What are your thoughts on Jen and Marc's shock split? Let us know your thoughts in the comments box below.

The men and officers of the 23 Armoured Brigade, which intercepted the people said to be on a mission to kill said the suspects were armed with AK 47 riffles, when they ran into a patrol team at Song, a few kilometres to Yola, along the Yola-Maiduguri trunk A road.

It was learnt that one of the suspects was killed during a scuffle with military men, even as those arrested were detained at the army cantonment in Yola.

UN House Bomb Blast: DSS Declares Al Qaeda-linked Man, Mamman Nur, Wanted!

0

The Department of State Services (DSS), today in Abuja declared wanted Mamman Nur, whom it described as the mastermind of last week's bomb attack on the United Nations House in the city.

In a press statement in response to "various speculations and misrepresentations in the media," DSS spokesperson Marilyn Ogar described Mr. Nur as "a notorious Boko Haram element with Al-Qaeda links who returned recently from Somalia."

Ms. Ogar said that security agencies working on "precise intelligence" received by DSS in the days before the blast of Boko Haram plans to attack unspecified targets in Abuja, had arrested Babagana Ismail Kwaljima (a.k.a Abu Summaya); and Babagana Mali (a.k.a Bulama), "notorious" leaders of the group.

That information indicated the attack would be by means of an ash-coloured Toyota Camry vehicle with registration number AA539GBL, but it was eventually executed with a Honda car with Kano State registration number AV38NSR.

In the badly-conceived press statement, DSS seems to be suggesting that Nigeria's chaotic security agencies should not be blamed for the bomb blast because Boko Haram failed to keep to the terms of the "credible intelligence" DSS had received by cleverly using a motor vehicle different from the one it had promised.

The agency however called on Nigerians to recognize they have no other country, and urged everyone to strive to maintain its unity "which is currently being threatened."

Soldiers On Rampage, Destroys N30m Factory Equipment Built On Army Land!

0

Men of the Nigerian Army from the 323 Artillery Battalion, Owena Barracks, Akure, on Wednesday invaded the premises of a wood factory located in front of the barracks and vandalised property worth N5 million.

The military men, numbering about 30, were said to have invaded the premises of Progress Wood at about 8.00 a.m. in three vehicles, a Toyota Hilux and two jeeps and pulled down the fence of the factory.

They were also alleged to have vandalised the office complex of the organisation and some equipment used after chasing away members of staff of the company that were said to be about 40.

It was learnt that the invasion of the military men was based on the claim by the army that the land on which the factory was located belonged to it.

Speaking with newsmen on the development, the Chief Executive Officer of the company, Akintunde Adebiyi, alleged that the action was taken following his refusal to give the soldiers money.

According to him, soldiers from the barracks had been collecting between N20,000 and N30,000 from him since he started business in the area in 2006 on the pretext that they were providing security and he was always issued with a receipt indicating that he was paying rent.

Adebiyi explained that the soldiers never demanded such money from those who had residential buildings in the area, saying he stopped paying the fee after he was advised by his lawyer.

He said the soldiers who invaded the company carted away his laptop and an unspecified amount of money and destroyed  equipment worth N30 million.

FG Pays Legislative Aides N23bn Every Four Years!

0

The Federal Government spends about N23 billion on salaries and allowances of about 5000 legislative aides appointed by members of the National Assembly every four years, investigations reveal.

Investigations revealed that each lawmaker is, by law, entitled to five aides including Senior Legislative Aides (SLA), Legislative Aides (LA), Legislative Assistants (LA), Personal Assistants (PA) and a secretary; while presiding and principal officers can appoint a retinue of special assistants, advisers, senior special assistants, press secretaries and chief of staff.

The SLAs, according to the National Assembly service rules, must be officers not below grade levels 13 to 15 for House members and 15 to 16 for Senators, the Legislative Aides on levels 10 to 12, Legislative Assistants, level 09; Personal Assistants, level 08; while Secretaries, usually placed on level 07, must hold a minimum of National Diploma.

The SLA's average monthly salary is put at N200,000, Legislative Aides, N150,000; Legislative Assistants, N100,000; Personal Assistants, N60,000; and  Secretaries, N50,000.

They are also, on assumption of duty, paid 28-day allowances and 300 percent of their annual basic salary as severance allowances while leaving amounting to about N5 billion.

A letter from the Office of the Minister of Finance addressed to the Clerk of the National Assembly dated July 21, 2011 revealed that the Senior Legislative Aides who served in the last House got N3.954 million each as severance allowances, the Legislative Aides, N1.609 million each; Legislative Assistants, N1.3 million each; Personal Assistants, N1.16 million each; and secretaries, N.779 million each.

A cumulatively, the 28-day allowance, monthly, annual and four years salaries and severance allowances indicates that  the government spends as much as N17, 908,000 on each SLA every four years; N7,400,000 on each Legislative Aide; N10,418,000 on each Legislative Assistant, N5,200,000 on each Personal Assistant and N3,958,000 on each secretary.
