R. Kelly Falls ill Due to Past Surgery, Cancels All Press Appearances

R. Kelly has been forced to cancel a promotional trip to New York City, his publicist reports, as he took ill this morning while traveling from Chicago. The "Pied Piper of R&B" had been slated to appear on "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon" and NBC's "Today," but he's apparently wrestling with throat issues brought on by the emergency surgery he underwent last year.

"While on his way to New York this morning to celebrate the publication of his long-awaited memoir SoulaCoaster, multi-platinum R&B superstar R. Kelly was taken ill and had to return to Chicago for medical treatment," reads an official statement. "Initial indications are that he is suffering from complications from surgery he had last year to treat an abscess on his vocal cords."
His rep adds that it's "unclear how long Kelly may be sidelined."
The "Trapped in the Closet" creator underwent surgery in July 2010, after being rushed to Chicago's Northwestern Memorial hospital. In a message to fans the following month, he shouted out all the "prayer warriors" in his corner.
"The doctor said the surgery went well," Kelly added of his hospital visit last year. "I know it may not look like it, but it did. I want y'all to continue to pray for me. Be strong out there, I will be back. I know it's a lot of negativity out there, please don't believe the hype. God is good all the time."
In addition to his upcoming memoir, R. Kelly is also promoting his 11th studio album, Write Me Back, which debuted this week.

Spice Girls Reunite After 4 Years To Announce West End Musical Viva Forever!

They're baaaaack!

Four years after reuniting for a world tour, Spice Girls Victoria "Posh" Beckham, 38, Geri "Ginger" Halliwell, 39, Emma "Baby" Bunton, 36, Melanie "Scary" Brown, 37, and Melanie "Sporty" Chisholm, 38, came together once more in London June 26 to announce details of a West End musical based on their biggest hits.

"It's better than we could ever have imagined," Chisholm said. According to Beckham, the show will "be introducing a whole new generation to Girl Power."

The five women met up at the St. Pancras Hotel in London, where they filmed their "Wannabe" music video in 1996. The musical, titled Viva Forever, was written by Absolutely Fabulous co-creator Jennifer Saunders, 53, and is being produced by Judy Craymer.

ASSORTED Returns With New Music: Effizy | Ayogo

Assorted is a dynamic duo from Enugu regarded as the entertainment capital of eastern Nigeria. Ugwuanyi Innocent Ikechukwu a.ka Pacy and Ogbonna Chukwuebuka Victor a.k.a Buvic, met in 2006 at a recording studio where they both recording as individual artistes. On their first meet, hanging out, singing together and realizing their similarity in vision decided to become a duo. They picked the name 'Assorted' which depicts the mix and versatility in their styles.


Their foundation is highlife with the duo fusing a blend of pop and urban elements. Their music has been met with applause as their first single 'kporonge' was a huge success in the East and received positive responses from feedback from other parts of Nigeria and Africa. 
The attention and
success of their debut led to an interest by an indie label executive, shortly after signing the contract however it was terminated by the duo.  A remix of the monster hit single 'kporonge' with Duncan Mighty and visuals shot by the profilic Clarence Peters was shot.


Shortly afterwards, Hillbank records - A South African label based in Capetown signed them.


They are currently working on their next EP which would feature productions from hit music makers Samklef for the track 'effizy' and  Dekumzy (producer of hit tracks like 'Me and you' by Bracket, 'Yori yori' , 'No time' featuring PSquare) for the duo's second song 'Ayogo'. Assorted has collaborated with Da L.E.S of the South African trio, Jozi,which would be their next single.

New Video Release: RIZZZ - ‘Money Maker’ Feat. Miekharry

Rizzz whose real name is Doris Ukwade is an eccentric and passionate female artiste who is bent on making music that would inspire and influences the life of others.

Born and bred in Delta, she moved to Lagos in 2003 to pursue a music career. She has being passionate about the music from a very young age, she started from the choir and discovered herself early enough but she waited this long to debut simply because – in her words ‘I believe that what’s worth doing at all is worth doing well’.

She started with a live band, before she moved on to record her first studio song in 2004. A polished female artiste from the several nights in the studio, honing her craft as a singer, Rizzz has released a couple of singles and has shot two videos. Bee Gees' Singer, Robin Gibb Dies At 62 After Long Battle With Cancer

Bee Gees singer Robin Gibb has passed away today at age 62.

The musician died after undergoing intestinal surgery and due to his long battle with cancer.

'The family of Robin Gibb, of the Bee Gees, announce with great sadness that Robin passed away today following his long battle with cancer and intestinal surgery. The family have asked that their privacy is respected at this very difficult time,' family spokesman Doug Wright said.

The father-of-three had been battling colon and liver cancer.

Fears for the star’s health were first raised last year when he appeared looking gaunt on a TV show to promote his single for Poppy Day.But Mr Gibb tried to allay any rumors about his health after admitting he had cancer – but claiming he had beaten it, saying doctors had told him: ‘It’s gone, they’ve told me they can’t see it no more, I’ve done it.’

She had been told to start making plans for the musician’s passing as he slumped into a coma after contracting pneumonia.
