The governor used the opportunity to deny the rumour making the rounds in the state that he impregnated a lady.
Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony of the SSG in Benin, the state capital, Oshiomhole said: the rumour that he impregnated an Uromi lady was designed to dent his image, describing it as malicious.
He said: "There are rumours making the rounds that I had impregnated a lady from Uromi and that I was going marry her. I like to state that it is all rumours. We shall not be deterred in our resolve to institute good governance in Edo State."
He also thanked the people of the state and his associates for attending his daughter, Dr. Winnie's wedding last week.
